On this week's episode of The Scat Cast, we talk about all things The Boys. Were our predictions for the finale right?? Find out in the brand new episode!
The Deep and Homelander are probably like the two best written characters in the show. Well, terrible people, but that's why they're so good.
SPEAKER_02What can I not see through Deep? Zinc, sir. Zinc, Homelander. What is that box made out of?
SPEAKER_05Zinc. Firecrecker has moved on to a better place now. Orlando?
SPEAKER_04I'm John. I'm Alfonso. And I'm Darren. Welcome to the Scatcast. We don't know either. Neither do the writers of the boys. Rest in peace, the deep. I have no idea if he died yet or not. This episode is going up the same day as the last episode. I think he did not die. I think he died. He could die.
SPEAKER_07I don't know. Oh, because when it's going up, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Oh, you mean like the last episode? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're recording this after the seventh episode, but like before the eighth one goes up. But this is going up after the eighth one goes up, probably. The the same day, like the same hour, basically. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I hope the Samuel L. Jackson shark kills the deep. That's all I want. You just want to call him a motherfucker and then just.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I mean, they probably could. That'd be really good for me. I think it would be interesting if they had him die from like every single animal in the ocean.
SPEAKER_02I just I just how would they make him get in the water? I really want a good scene of convincing get in the water. Or like maybe he actually does get into a puddle and actually it's a way deeper puddle than he thought. Like one of those like uh sinkholes that like take you to like a lake or something, and they're just like they should have him go in a puddle and there's just a shark in a puddle. I would love that. Honestly, I'll just say that.
SPEAKER_07A freshwater fish just somehow know about an ocean fish genocide. Exactly.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, word spreads, you never know. Yeah, he said any, he even see any lakes, any oceans. I don't even know how the niggas in the lakes know because I'm saying like, yeah. I mean, it could be him in a lake and a fucking whale comes out of nowhere or something. You know, wait, I guess in universe he talks to fish that all animals talk to each other, and the seabirds probably snitched.
SPEAKER_07Oh.
SPEAKER_02The sneepers eat the bad food. They're like, yo, yo, fish pond.
SPEAKER_04Dude, they have like fucking pelicans riding in the inside the pelicans' mouths. Yeah, they have like fucking like fucking barracudas and shit in there.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that would be heat. That would be badass, bro. Yo, yo, Robert Kripke. You could you could do the funniest thing. I think it's name to Eric. Is it oh, I think it's Robert Kirkman.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you got like two different guys messed up.
SPEAKER_02Eric Kripke, you can do the funniest thing this week, today, on this episode.
SPEAKER_04You still have minus a day to make the changes after we make this video, so you never know. There's always time for a director's cut.
SPEAKER_07What if he dies while having sex with a fish?
SPEAKER_04I don't think he's gonna have sex with a fucking anymore. I don't think he can. Yeah, he eats.
SPEAKER_07No, it's like it's like it's like some Russian spy shit where like they're having sex with him, but just like they fucking three fish in a trench coat.
SPEAKER_04Sure. I hope Homelander actually does something interesting.
SPEAKER_07I wonder how they just do like some demented fuck-ass shit in the finale.
SPEAKER_02Well, doesn't he kill a baby in the comics? Eats a baby. He eats a baby.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yes. Okay, that's that's yes, yes. I know they said beforehand, they're like Homelander doesn't really bad either. They're like, Yeah, Homelander does the most fucked up thing you've ever seen, and it hasn't happened yet. This is this season.
SPEAKER_07Okay.
SPEAKER_04So they they did say that. So it they might do the baby thing, honestly. He's probably not gonna eat a baby, but I could see him killing a baby, you know. I I could see that being the case. Maybe he does just eat the baby. Maybe. Yeah, but both Black Noirs died twice this season already. Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_02The other Black Noir was so disappointing. Just a wasted the first one was so cool because he was traumatized by a soldier boy. He like lives in like in a fucking like like a happy land, he has imaginary friends. Like, oh, he dies tragically because he like lied. Okay. Yeah. This one was just an actor.
SPEAKER_04An actor. I mean, I thought that was cool because it's like you never see his face, so they can just replace him and people wouldn't know about it. So that makes sense. That I mean, they don't want people to know Homelander killed him, you know.
SPEAKER_02But I just find it funny, Black Moore is just a black guy, both times.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. He was a white guy in the comics. Yeah, like he's also a clone, so I mean, you know, but I I I like what they did with him. I just think they didn't spend enough time flushing it out because they they spent like three episodes of him being mute, just like being angry and wanting to method act or whatever. They didn't say yeah.
SPEAKER_07I like that shit. I mean, he committed a fist genocide or something.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I mean, that's cool, I guess, but he did it off-screen. Yeah, they would have sewed him like the same way. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I think I think he should have been in the finale.
SPEAKER_04He could fly, they never showed him fly.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, with the whole like they use some of an oh file, like you could show you could like fix me and cure me or something. That would have been cool.
SPEAKER_07He flew in the um last season.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But they didn't he didn't do anything with his powers this season at all. No, he just he could have been a regular guy and it would have not changed anything.
SPEAKER_07Even for the finale, like pay a little homage to the comics, you know, like a frame or something.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, like they could have done it by having like I think it would have made more sense if he turned on the seven and started helping the boys.
SPEAKER_07He was on that road before they killed him.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I mean, it would have made more sense for his character to do that than go kill a shit ton of fish to get back at Cold Boy. Or then died to the deep.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. No, that direct that's a lame way to die, man. Who's been in this season ever since season one just dies to an eel up the ass. That'll that. I never liked that guy. Anyway, yeah, I'm just like, he fucked Ashley and then he just dies to an eel up his ass. I was just like, okay. That was fitting to me. I don't like that guy, anyways.
SPEAKER_04I don't remember. The second I saw him on screen, I was like, ugh, this guy. Oh, this guy?
SPEAKER_07Yeah. I was like, oh, I don't remember enough about his character. I was just like, oh, he's just a writer. Yeah. He wrote their Avengers Infinity War.
SPEAKER_02But never got released. They kept talking about the dawn of the seven. There's never been seven niggas since season one. Well, yeah, that was that was a joke.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Yeah, Homelander did say that, didn't he? He was like, Yeah, there'sn't been seven in a while. It's been like a running joke, actually. I like that the deep is so pathetic, though.
SPEAKER_02Like, I mean, he's just like that's good for his character. Like he like he's a he's a coward. Please, sir. Let me let me run the seven. I have nothing left. I have nothing left. Ooh, okay. I will say, I think I don't know who that old guy was in episode six, right before Homelander got the V1, but I liked his character a lot. Old guy? The legend. The legend, yeah. Oh, here we go. Because like I realize like this, it's been like a recurring theme. Homelander actually respects power in such a weird way. He respects people who aren't scared of him. Yeah. Like at all.
SPEAKER_04Everyone is scared of him. He respects like real people.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah. He respected people who are up front with him and honestly. He respects Eggger. Still hasn't killed Egg. At least we respect him.
SPEAKER_07He respected stage until she backstabbed him. Soldier Boy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. People who aren't afraid of him and just treat him. I think that's like also like he respects Butcher on that level. Like Butcher would run the ones with him every time. I think he clearly respects him. Yeah. Yeah. He's like, yeah. But I just I just liked how, like, uh uh, what's her name? Because the deep and flashlight. What's her name? Starlight? No, the other one. Firecracker. Okay. They both make sparks, so I I couldn't like it's hard to differentiate. What was her power? She can make firecrackers. She just makes sparks. She's a weaker Starlight. She just goes. She's saying she's super strong and she can like, you know, do a little flint and steal in the wild. She kind of like has a Jubilee has in X-Men, but like bad. Yeah. So I kind of liked how Firecracker and the Deep are basically the same character. They've given up all their like autonomy and like self-reflection to Homelander. But the difference is because Homelander was sucking her titties, she felt more like connected to him. And then because the deep has always been on the outside looking in, because everyone's always considered him a dumbass. When Homelander told him to leave, he just kind of left. But for Firecracker, she gave up her religion, she gave up her self-respect. Like her real death scene happened when she turned on her pastor who took her in as a child. That's what I was gonna say.
SPEAKER_04I feel like the difference between the deep and firecracker is that the firecracker had the chance to redeem herself, and she didn't. Like she she could have had a good ending in the show, but because she kept going down the easy path, that's what ended up like sealing her face.
SPEAKER_02Once he told her to leave, he she she could have left and lived like the deep and the legend, but she's like, No, I have nothing. I'm staying with you.
SPEAKER_04And he's like, Yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah, dippers. She gets killed by the left wing. Yeah, yeah. The left wing. But I mean, I I think Homelander, I like the whole subplot of him thinking he's a god. I think that makes sense.
SPEAKER_03From the teeth of justice. Yes, mommy. No, no, no.
SPEAKER_02No, okay. It was really funny when Soldier Boy was, what the fuck are you doing? I'm bathing in breast milk. Huh? The weirdest fucking guy I've ever met.
SPEAKER_04I love Soldier Boy as a character. Yeah. But I think it's really disappointing that they brought him back this season just to kind of like make him a worse written character. And like all of them. I mean, I I think season three Soldier Boy is, but season five, he doesn't make any sense. Like all of a sudden he goes back on so many of his things. Yeah, even like now all of a sudden he's like, I love you, son.
SPEAKER_06Okay, so you're what she would have wanted.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, like what?
SPEAKER_02I don't you don't give a fuck about Stormfront? He literally watched like a Nazi jerk off Homelander. Oh, my Nick and Fruten. It was a clip. Whatever he was watching, when Homelander pulled it up, he's like, My Nickenfruten or whatever the fuck she was saying. Is that what she said? My nickfuten. She talked about his penis or something in fucking German. And then like he just was like, fucked Clara? Yeah. What the fuck was that?
SPEAKER_04I mean, I don't like the whole thing where it's like they were in the fucking mansion and shit. Soldier Boy had the opportunity to turn on him, and he was like, No one beats up my boy but me.
SPEAKER_02And then he like uses like his co-host from uh supernatural to like fucking A-train all these. That was funny. I didn't like that. That was a good book. Seth Rogan was like, Oh guys, we've got to get out of here. I did like that. Um, but also, also, also, my biggest concern, they literally had that superhero guy. I forgot what his powers were, the guy who like fucking knocked him out the poison guy. You showed that superheroes were capable of dissenting that weren't on part of the boys and they don't agree with it. Why didn't we have more of that?
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I think over the course of the season, they should have had more and more people turn on Homelander.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the most you gave was like Annie's father, then like the cop was like, all right, she just has to get the fuck out of here. Yeah. I liked that episode too.
SPEAKER_04Like it was a good episode. Not that episode, I liked the starlight stuff in that episode. Everything else kind of sucked that episode. But that that part was good. That's when they all went to they that's when they went to the angry building or whatever.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the angry building where fucking whatever was it wasn't bombside, it was some other guy who was there. He's just like, it was Soldier Boy and Homelander. Oh, you're talking about the the wall.
SPEAKER_04The wall the wall. Yeah. I thought everything this season, like they introduce the V1, they have the virus and all this other stuff. By the end of episode six, like none of it amounts to anything. There was like no point in having any of it at all. You end up at the end of episode six in the same position as the rest of the show.
SPEAKER_02The jump cut from six to seven was the biggest, like insult to my intelligence.
SPEAKER_04Ends with Homelander right in front of the boys, being angry as fuck, and then tweaking, and then the next episode begins with them hitting a vape. Yeah. No, I I was wondering, like, do they just did he just fly away? Why would he? They're right there.
SPEAKER_07Did he just like pass out or some shit? I'm assuming that's what they had to have been, but it's like he was passed out. Why didn't he I don't know?
SPEAKER_04Like that's my whole thing. Is like, are you telling me like he seriously didn't want to go chase them?
SPEAKER_02Because he heard and smelled them. There's no fucking way you can't tell me he didn't hear and smell them right there. Yeah, he can hear and smell them anywhere. He was they were 20 feet away.
SPEAKER_07I saw some like analog horror shit last night of him just like someone making an edit of just like destroying a fucking city after he got the V1 palette. It's like that's the word should have picked up on, you know. Like, why wasn't that the seventh episode?
SPEAKER_04I feel like this whole season, like the only reason they had the V1 introduced is so that the virus doesn't work. Literally. If you didn't have the virus this season to begin with, you wouldn't have needed any of that other stuff, and all six episodes of that were just like wasted.
SPEAKER_07They still could have used the virus anyway. It knocked him out for like a day. Yeah, it still kicked Soldier Boy's ass.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. But I mean, I don't know. Like, I think they could have had other like I said, I think Soldier Boys powers getting like a lot of people.
SPEAKER_07There's other soups that back Homelander who don't have V1, so you still could have used the virus anyway.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, well, like you could have done that, and then like the V1 for Homelander stuff, though, specifically, where it's like it's the MacGuffin that he needs to get. I don't think there was any reason for any of that. And then like the entire subplot of him spending five episodes trying to market his upcoming, like you know, rise as God and shit like that. Only for him to not care.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Because, like, okay, if you cared about the marketing of God, why kill the president?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you could have just skipped all that and had him just be like, Okay, I'm god now. Everyone has to accept that without having to like soft launch it on a whole shit ton of people for some reason. Yeah. I don't like I think all of like a lot of the season was just like wasted time that they could have used doing other cool stuff. They could have. We could have had like five or six episodes of Homelander off his leash, like actually going around and killing random people because they don't know.
SPEAKER_02And then like the people start to realize the starlighters were right, so you start getting like these insurgency groups, but you still have that the fact that he controls like Esper serial, like basically if Homelander just controls bad guys, think of it like if the Joker had Superman's powers and he just had like the Joker gang just running shit. Injustice Superman, basically. Exactly. And it's like, okay, now that's an actual threat. And it's like all of them are loyal because they like they believe in him because they believe he he's allowing them to do evil shit. Yep. And so then it's like, oh, well, now you have like a whole bunch of humans and civilians having to be like, have to like look at their friends who they betrayed all of the previous season, and then now have to work with them again. Yeah. Because even then, like with the with the whole Starlight thing in episode seven, it's like that lady said, Fuck Starlight, and then like Starlight ends up saving her, and Starlight heard her say, Fuck Starlight, and she just kind of looks at it like, wow, yeah, I just saved that person.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Like, have more of that. Like, you have like all these this time dedicated to stuff like Huey being like, No, we can't use the virus, we can't kill all these guys. I I love Starlight and Kimiko, we can't let them die. And it's like, well, now you're not gonna use the virus anyway. So all that was just like a wasted time. There's no point in any of that. Yeah, there's literally no point. And I I guess I still stand by I don't like Frenchie, but I think that the way they wrote him in the last episode was actually really good. Yes, I liked it. I really fucked with that.
SPEAKER_07That should have been the second episode, though.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, they could have had that same level of writing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, they have two impactful episodes in an entire season. This episode one would A train in episode seven.
SPEAKER_07So I'm saying they should have killed a major character at the end of every episode.
SPEAKER_02And like wrote them off in a knife way, like a skycrackers.
SPEAKER_04Instead of wrapping everything up in the final episode, it would emphasize like how fucked they are at that point if they started doing that. It's like every time they get to a point where they think they have something that they can use, like some kind of leverage, it gets one step ahead of them. It gets fucked. Yeah. Yeah, that would have worked way better. Do y'all have, like I said, this this episode's going up the same day as the finale? Do y'all have any predictions for the the final episode?
SPEAKER_02I predict they do a 1v1 between Homeland. There's one thing in the comics they have to stick to. It's the 1v1. I need Homeland and Butcher to 1v1. That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_07They did. Oh, they did for the season. Did you see the poster? Yeah, but like in the show.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, they have the poster for the next episode. That was like the White House scene. It was Butcher watching down the White House lawn with the soups in the air and everything. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I just I just need the Butcher Homelander 1v1. I don't care if they have powers or don't have powers. I just need to see Butcher like look at Homeland, look like a breathable, soft twinkle.
SPEAKER_01What?
SPEAKER_03He's like, yeah.
SPEAKER_07You've had a right go at it, have you? I think Homelander wins, though. You think? I think he dies, but I think he wins because they kill each other?
SPEAKER_02I'll be fine with that.
SPEAKER_07No, no, no. I think he wins. I think people still believe he's God.
SPEAKER_04I don't think if you die, how do people think you're God? I guess I guess he's a martyr. I don't know.
SPEAKER_07Jesus. Yeah. I don't know.
SPEAKER_04Never mind. I mean You know that monkey meme he's just going. I mean, people already don't think he's God, though. Like with him being alive.
SPEAKER_02Seven people out of 30 believe he was God.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, some people do. Little Homelander cults pop up.
SPEAKER_04I guess. That would make sense. When you said that, I thought you just meant like Stan Edgar is gonna like keep VOT going. I was like, yeah, I mean that's probably just gonna be.
SPEAKER_07I think it's a homelander once, but yeah, like what I'm talking about, yeah.
SPEAKER_04I think VOT is gonna win for sure. I think VOT's gonna be fine after all this. They're gonna have I I I like someone said that the the show was gonna end with them like turning on the TV and seeing that they're having like auditions for the next leader of the seven or something like that, and it's like, oh, it's just gonna keep continuing. Dystopian, yeah. Yeah. I guess they can they could just make the deep the leader of the seven after this.
SPEAKER_07It's kind of like how the comics ended. Is that how it ended? Yeah, because they never released the virus who killed everybody. It was just soups being soups, I don't know.
SPEAKER_04How does it actually like end?
SPEAKER_07Um I mean it ends with uh Huey and Starlight just walking off together being the only ones that survive.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but it ends with Huey V butcher.
SPEAKER_07That's like how the main Well, um Huey V butcher, but Huey convinces Butcher that he's wrong and he doesn't release the virus. Oh, okay, that makes sense. I guess they could do something like that, but it's the comics is kind of like yeah, I mean it ends where nothing really changes besides the Homelander Boys stuff.
SPEAKER_04I don't think they can do the whole like Butcher turns evil thing at this point. It's too late in the show.
SPEAKER_02They might though. Because um basically there's been a lot of like shitting on the boys posts, and Mothersmoke has liked those posts, uh Homelander has liked those posts. I saw a lot of Anthony Star liking those posts, yeah. And fucking uh Butcher has liked those posts. What happened was like dogging on the boys. Like, why the fuck is this happening? This is stupid. Why are they rushing this?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So if like the three one of the three big cast members are like, yeah, we agree, then it they might just pull some like he does like a fucking 180 two. That's what Mark Hamill did before the release of Rise of Skywalker. So oh, he was he was liking hate posts? Yeah, it's so funny. Rise of Skywalker is a bad movie. Is that the titty milk one? No, that's the one we're before.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, there's so many bad endings to TV shows and stuff.
SPEAKER_02We were talking about that earlier. It's like I was because I was like, Is are endings hard? And John's like, no, they're pretty hard. And I was like, Are they? And then we started just going through TV shows with like four or five seasons of just peak, and then they have to conclude it, and it's just like what the fuck happened?
SPEAKER_07I think writing an ending is easy after you see how a bad ending is. You know what I mean? You know what not to do. No, no, no. Like I'm saying, like writing an ending is hard. Then you make an ending, see people's reactions, and then you go, oh yeah, well, I shouldn't have done that. Like it's easy, in hindsight. Yeah, hindsight is 2020, exactly.
SPEAKER_04I don't know, like stuff like this season. Like, I legitimately, I don't know how you read the script for the season and not realize you're ending up in the same place where you started earlier on, like before the season started.
SPEAKER_02But not even like in a lower position. It's not like zero, fifty to like negative fifty. It's zero, fifty, fit zero. Yeah, just you went up a step, now you're back down. Besides, I guess Frenchie dying.
SPEAKER_04That would be like the only other thing there. But like zero, he did nothing. He he made well, no, because I I because never mind, I meant like after episode six. So no, I mean, yeah, Frenchie wasn't even dead at that point. So I don't know how they wrote this, didn't realize that that was the case, and not like in a good way. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_07IMO, they should have never brought in V1 into the plot. Uh yeah, yeah. They shouldn't have um they should have just had Homelander. They're just stuck with the virus, yeah, like the comics. They should have just they never should have done the home like the um soldier boy chemical power stuff. Just have the virus, have Homelander be scared of his mortality, and that's what makes him makes him snap and goes crazy.
SPEAKER_02That would make more sense. Yeah, because then he's like, I've now he knows he can be killed. Yeah, so then he like just has like the boys' faces blasted. So he's like, Do you believe in me? Save God or don't.
SPEAKER_07Exactly. And he knows the only way to be immortal is to be a god, which is why he wants to do the religious stuff.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and then he can have the whole thing, like if even like honestly, he could have just kept Sister Sage, hey, try to take this out of my dad's blood, so knock him out, and then like have his dad back in the tube if you want to have him back in the tube.
SPEAKER_07And that teases like vault rising. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that would have been way better. So you wrap up Sozo's plot line. His son, his after he betrayed his son, his son betrayed him and is trying to use him to save himself.
SPEAKER_04Uh I feel like it's also just kind of like false advertising. Because like, I mean, he saw those posters and stuff that came out beforehand. It was like ore farming on the like he's looking down at the planet, yeah.
SPEAKER_07He's fucking being nuked and shit.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, like he's looking down at the planet while there's like fucking like chaos and destruction going on down below. And it's like that's not what the season's like.
SPEAKER_02The world has been fine, yeah, is what we can see. And what another issue I have is that in like the previous season with like Newman and season two with uh uh what's the bitch? The Nazi bitch, Stormfront? Stormfront. They had people reacting, like the world was reacting. We've not seen the world's reaction to this. No, no, no.
SPEAKER_07No, like they they name they name big events like oh, I want the all the suits to go to these sanctuary cities where all the starlighters, or like they talk about the internment camps and like rounding people up, but they don't really show it.
SPEAKER_04No, yeah, you know. I mean, we saw the camp in episode one, I guess. And they showed people rounding up. Jeffrey Epstein got a shout out too.
SPEAKER_02They're like, have fun at camp. No, the Jeffrey Epstein got a shout-up before we saw how like a real human being reacted to this shit. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah, I forg how did they mention that?
SPEAKER_02I forget how it was. Sage was like, he'd be deader than Jeffrey Epstein's like. Oh, yeah. That's right.
SPEAKER_04They could have had like Ashley be like um an end, like an actual like whistleblower or something for Homeland, or they could have something like that. I don't know. Yeah, so what was the important of Ashley too?
SPEAKER_02Because she just said, I'm gonna shut up and just watch us die. And she's president now. No, Ashley too, like the the second head. Oh, yeah. She's like, I'm just gonna shut up and stop talking now. So I'm like okay, so I assume she's gonna end up doing something that gets Ashley killed. Like she can stop something because she read someone's mind, but she's not gonna say anything. Yeah, maybe. Or she's gonna say something to Homelander.
SPEAKER_06Homelander's gonna level Detroit.
SPEAKER_02Dude. God. I don't know. I just What happened, man? Season one and season two are fucking peak. Like, also, they've only killed one, like the boys have only killed one superhero this entire show. Someone pointed out the stats. Just try to lose it? Just trans losing. They haven't killed anyone else. The dick guy survived. But you're killed gunpowder. He did. I'm talking about like major superheroes.
SPEAKER_04Gunpowder's a pretty major superheroes.
SPEAKER_02The fucking Homelander and uh the deep have killed more seven members. Well, the deep tied the boys would kill them.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, in the comics, they kill like superheroes or superhero teams, like every issue. And they did do a lot of that in the show.
SPEAKER_04They're not very like competent at all. They've spent five seasons trying to figure out how to kill Homelander.
SPEAKER_03Really, it's been that long. It's five seasons. We're in season five. They had at least a plan back then. What the fuck?
SPEAKER_02Even in season three. I thought the first season one and two, they were trying to fight Vaught and like have him be putting like on ice or something.
SPEAKER_04No, because remember, Butchers always wanted to kill Homelander.
SPEAKER_02But they ought they attacked Vaught first, though. That was the big thing. It was like the king.
SPEAKER_04But Butchers always wanted to kill Homelander the entire time. But he was trying to kill Homelander by the way. But all the way back, the the method they're using now with them trying to give Kimiko Soldier Boys powers is the same method that they've had access to since season three. And they could have done it if Homeland would have. So it's like, why didn't you ever try that since season four? You know what I mean? Like, why didn't you try it then? Why didn't you try it in season three?
SPEAKER_02Do you remind me when I was season three? Basically. That was like the temp V season. Yeah, but wasn't that the whole point? Like, wasn't Soul World trying to kill Ryan and Homeland at the same time? At the end. Yeah, at the very end in the sea. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07But Butcher was like, no, wait, that's that was like a good that was a bad season finale.
SPEAKER_04It was. But I thought season three was good overall. It was just like the finale that wasn't good. Yeah. I just didn't like the whole them. I don't know. I like the concept of Butcher and Homelander teaming up to protect Ryan, but like the execution just wasn't there.
SPEAKER_07I also like Tem V, like they use it all the time in the comics. Really? Yeah. That's how they like stand a toad hill with superheroes. That makes sense. It's it's like introduced in like the 30 issue or something.
SPEAKER_04I like the concept of them trying to just like not overpower them and just like outsmart them all the time. Like I think. Yeah, that's what I was saying. Like they just don't do it. Like they just they seem like they're very incompetent because they never actually get anything done. They end like every season, like in a worse place than where they started.
SPEAKER_02Like can we just talk about how unrealistic uh Frenchie's phone breaking was when Kimiko knocked? I was like, there's no fucking way. It just explodes like that. They couldn't call Frenchie to tell them Homelander knows his location because when he got uh Kimiko out of the radiation chamber, she like knocks his phone from a she's all he's already he's like he's a short man. He's three I didn't even notice that. He's a short man, he's three feet off the ground, basically. His phone falls and explodes, and that's why they don't get the call to get the fuck out. Yeah, it's crazy. I didn't know that. That that was that just felt like an in, like this felt so weird. Like, imagine, okay.
SPEAKER_07Uh I mean if anything, it should have broke from the radiation. I don't know.
SPEAKER_04That would have made more sense. Yeah. It just like it like fucking glitches out and doesn't work anymore. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02This is how far it falls because he's already leaning down for Kimiko. They're both short people.
SPEAKER_04And then the entire screen just goes, Yeah, I didn't notice that.
SPEAKER_02I don't know.
SPEAKER_07He had like a cheap LG. I don't know.
SPEAKER_04No, it was a decent iPhone. iPhones do break very easily. But it did he have a case?
SPEAKER_02Did he have a case? I can't recall, but it fucking explodes. There you go. I don't know what to tell you. As an iPhone owner, I can tell you that's pretty accurate. I mean it wasn't Android. I don't fucking know what Frenchie uses. Yeah, if he's smart and he's a hacker, he probably wasn't Android. Those things are built like tanks. Yeah, it's a lot easier to hack shit on an Android.
SPEAKER_04That shit fucking exploded, dude. Yeah. No, that is very stupid.
SPEAKER_02Because if they didn't write that in, they could have had he would say, hey, homelander's coming, and then you have a better center. Because now Frenchie is like going through every fucking contingency plan. Because he's a smart planner.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So him and stage are trying to plan how to hide Chemico. And then if you want him to die, it's like, okay, all my contingency plans fail because this nigga can see through zinc. Yeah. And then he has to pull something out of his ass. And then he dies.
SPEAKER_07I like how he died.
SPEAKER_04I don't because they showed it off screen. Like he didn't like either have him die.
SPEAKER_07I assumed it was just the radiation.
SPEAKER_04No, no, he died from Homeland.
SPEAKER_07He stabbed him in the punch. Like he fucking ultra mited him. Yeah. Well, no, radiation will do that too. Not out of the stomach.
SPEAKER_02Stomach punch and he dragged himself out of the room. I don't know. He could have just bled out from the radiation, melting his flesh. But most of his flush was fine. Like Homelander turned it off and got it. But you didn't see it was under his shirt.
SPEAKER_04It was supposed they showed like a wound.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, that could have been caused by the radiation. Why would Homelander even look at him and not?
SPEAKER_04He's already dying. I don't know.
SPEAKER_07That's what I'm saying. I feel like this is a show and it has to be dramatic. I don't know.
SPEAKER_04Again, show him do that then. Have him like look at him in disgust and walk away. Actually show it. Like his offset.
SPEAKER_02And then he just crawls away. It's like, okay, I guess. But like if they would have had it to where like him and he traps Homelander in the radiation room, and then like they're both just cooking alive and homelanders, like, yeah, I don't get why he didn't close the door. Well, he can't do it from the inside, I don't think.
SPEAKER_04I don't I don't know how that works. Would he have been able to? I don't know. Maybe, but like, okay. So his playlist says, okay. I guess he could have set up something to where he could have used it as a trap and like a situation. I mean, he's supposed to be a smart tech guy. Like, you'd think he'd be able to do that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, if you can activate the chamber from the inside and the outside, then like, yeah, it wouldn't make sense. You can't just close the door and nuke yourself. Yeah. But like my issue with that is like, okay, Homelander immediately clocks that the zinc is there.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Frenchie goes. He just forgets about it and flights.
SPEAKER_02Then literally he goes, he fucking fucking instant transmissions to Frenchie's location. That's just cool. I liked that. I liked that scene. Yeah. But why does he become stupid and not go back and check the zinc room? I think he was just pissed. He just like wanted to leave. Well, I think Frenchie convinced him that they were on the way to kill him. So why would he go back to confront them? Why would he not just like, I don't know, run away search the building? Because I would assume he's lying. He can like he can tell when you're lying. Well, he saw that it was empty there.
SPEAKER_04I mean, he saw that there was like no one around. The first thing he said, he would assume that they're around, like over at the VOD studios and stuff.
SPEAKER_02Like, they left their most important scientists alone with no protection. They did. They basically did. Alone with no protection by himself, and you only caught four of them at your location. So there's just two up in the air. I I that just doesn't because he I looked at the fucking zinc thing. He's like, that's the only thing that can fit two people, and I can't see in there. Yeah. And you can he can tell if you're lying. Like all he had to do is just grab Frenchie and then like just shake him a bunch of people and just see where his eyes go.
SPEAKER_04I don't know about all that, but yeah You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02Like just do something to scare him, but like I'll I'll break every bone in your body because I tell her that. And then like you know how like in movies, like the person like looks at where they're not supposed to look like out of desperation. I don't think he would have. I'm not saying he's not that smart. I'm not saying he's that smart, but I'm just saying just do something like that. I don't think Frenchie would have done that. Yeah, I don't know, but like he could have just tested if he was lying or something. I just I don't know.
SPEAKER_07Light detectors aren't even 100% no, like it's just dead ass telling you're lying.
SPEAKER_02That's how a lie detector works.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it just says your heart rate. Yeah, so it's the same thing. I guess. I don't know. Like, I don't think Frenchie would have he seemed pretty calm in that moment. I think he just accepted that he was about to die. Yeah, I don't I don't think he would have had a reason to flutter his heart rate or anything there, honestly. I guess. I don't know. I mean, I I see what you're saying, but I think Homelander was just pissed off. He was just like I'm fucking leaving.
SPEAKER_07But I think I think they literally just convinced him that they were gone.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_07And on the way. Then then it scared him.
SPEAKER_04So yeah. I don't know. I liked that whole scene. I thought it was tense. I liked the whole moment of him like actually tapping the thing, and that alone made him fucking like fucking rush over to him and shit. I wish there were like more scenes like that in the show. That would be a lot cooler.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, this whole season has just been for the most part Homelander standing in a room and just yapping. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Or just looking at him with disgust, like when he was with Joe Rogan and them, or when they were in the fucking uh angry facility. Yeah, yeah. Joe Rogan. Yeah. Basically, it's just been Homelander just walking around and going, I feel like I heard about those memes, guys. Very not funny. Yeah. They're they're writing these memes about me.
SPEAKER_04Have you seen the memes about me? I I feel like anytime Homelander is in a room with someone who doesn't have any kind of powers, it should feel like a horror movie. That's how season one felt. Yeah, that's how it should always feel all the time. Like, there's no reason it should not feel like that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04He has the ability to fucking like obliterate you in this ban of like a blink. They did that with the president. Yeah. He kills the president, nothing happens. Where were the secret service?
SPEAKER_07Ashley, does he believe in me? He was already like the president, basically.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but they could have done other things with that. It couldn't, yeah. I don't know. Secret Service was there for Ashley, but not the president. Yeah. He was like, Maud Ashley. Does he believe in me? You could have actually like shown them, like have Congress declare war on him or some shit. Like, actually show them drop a nuke on him and have him tank a nuke. Show us a nuke like that. I mean, no, they've said since the beginning of the show, like, oh yeah, we've thrown everything we can at him and he doesn't die, which implies that he's tanked a nuke before. But show that I want to see him take a nuke. I want to see that happen. That should be badass. That'd be cool. Yeah. There's so many things like that in the show.
SPEAKER_02Like one of the best scenes from Homeland I can think of where it really shows like his evilness was like when that girl was committing suicide and he was just like, after he tried after something happened, he's like, you know what? I've had a bad day. Just do it. Go ahead and jump. Huh? Go ahead and jump.
SPEAKER_07I guess the parody is a Superman thing. They should have parodied more Superman shit this season with like the whole God stuff. Yeah. You know, like Snyder did um the whole like God complex.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, do like the Man of Steel parodies. Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_07They should have done that.
SPEAKER_04They haven't really had like superhero parody stuff this season. It's all been like political satires.
SPEAKER_07So political. There's been no saves.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. From the soups. Yeah, nothing like that. Atrein did an episode one, but that was it. And that's like a legitimate stuff. That was like such a nice callback.
SPEAKER_07But their whole thing used to be like staging saves.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. They don't even do that anymore. The D could even do a real save. So like, yeah.
SPEAKER_04They didn't even like the flight 357 thing or whatever. Like, they didn't even have to mounted to nothing. It was just Starlighter AI. That's been there since season one. They had that looming over him. And they actually do it. He's like, oh, it's AI. Like, what was the point? What'd you do any of that for? Why even have it like smoking gun in the room? Like, I don't know. That whole scene with the deep not saving the person was funny as fuck, though. He just like slowly shuffled away. Oh my gosh, the deep save him. Dude, what are you doing? Sorry, guys. Come on, man. Put your arms out. Flow. Can someone just throw him a life for saver? Please. The deep is so fucking funny, bro.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04The deep and homelander are probably like the two best written characters in the show, honestly. Like, I really fuck with the deep and homelander. Well, terrible people. That's why they're so good. Yeah. That's very fun.
SPEAKER_02What can I not see through Deep? Zinc, sorry. Zinc Homelander. Zinc Homelander. What is that box made out of?
SPEAKER_05Firecracker has moved on to a better place now.
SPEAKER_04Orlando. The fucking scene of him driving the Cybertruck listening to Limp Biscuit.
SPEAKER_02Good character. It's just God, the the show is just.
SPEAKER_04I wish his subplot wasn't so like separate from everyone else this season. Like he should have something to do with everything else going on. Yeah. He's never had anything to do with anyone else. I know. Yeah. He's always been just such like a fucking like gag. He's such like a sad loser, like nothing going for him kind of guy.
SPEAKER_07I like that because that's literally how people view Aquaman.
SPEAKER_04That is true. That is true. He's worse than Aquaman, though.
SPEAKER_07All he does is talk to fish. But I feel like the way he's portrayed, it's how literally people view Aquaman.
SPEAKER_02Like people view Batman in a higher regard and more useful than like, okay, this guy can do what exactly? He's super strong. He can talk to fish.
SPEAKER_07That is literally Aquaman's powers, and it's exactly what the Deep does. It's like Aquaman can at least control water too. He can't like just do it innately.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but he still has that going for him.
SPEAKER_07This guy literally just talks to the fish. I mean, if you took away everything from Aquaman, that's all he does, too.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but it's still.
SPEAKER_02It was very funny when the Deep had fucking oil in his gills, and he was like, I can't breathe.
SPEAKER_04They used to fucking like stuck their fingers in his gills and the sex lady that had brushes or like brushing oil.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but no, when he was getting like raped by that one lady, she's like, Let me touch your fucking gill. He's like, oh. He started like fingering his gills, suffocating him.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I was watching um the Lego movie again the other day. The one with Emmett? Yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah. I was watching that one. I watched that in the Lego Batman movie. But I I was I forgot that they kept making like Green Lantern the butt of all Superman's jokes and shit in those movies. That's totally like ordinarily before that movie, it would be Aquaman that they make those jokes about 100% of the time. He's like, hey guys, it's me, Green Lantern. Oh fuck, is this guy?
SPEAKER_02When they did like the whole like secret builders meetup and they just like, did they ignore Aqua uh what do they do with uh Green Lantern?
SPEAKER_04Superman just kept acting annoyed as fuck whenever he's like, hey, look, it's me, your best friend, Green Lantern!
SPEAKER_07And then they get locked up in that cell together, and it's like, hey man, guess for roommates.
SPEAKER_04And even in the Lego Batman movie, Superman's having the secret party at the fucking Fortress of Solitude, and Batman's looking around and he's like, Oh god, even Green Lantern's here. I wasn't invited.
SPEAKER_02That's really funny.
SPEAKER_04Those are really good movies.
SPEAKER_02I really like the Lego Batman one, but I have seen the Lancaster.
SPEAKER_07Lego Batman's genuinely a top three Batman film.
SPEAKER_02It is. You've never seen the Lego Batman movie? I've only seen the Lego movie. I know there's like that that seemed a joker, like so.
SPEAKER_04It's like you you think we're friends? Woof wins? I hate you. I don't hate you. I'm like fighting around right now. I don't okay.
SPEAKER_06That's yeah, I have multiple villains going on. You're not the only one.
SPEAKER_04I'm like your greatest villain, right? Bang. Superman. Superman's not a villain. Well, I guess I don't have a greatest villain then. Sorry. Like no, that movie's actually really good. Actually, the Lego Batman movie is legitimately, like Darren said, it's like a top three Batman movie, legitimately. That movie's like a celebration of like all Batman shit ever. It's such a good movie.
SPEAKER_06Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Like that shit where Robin warns up to him.
SPEAKER_06Who pays his taxes? Not Batman.
SPEAKER_02His fucking password was Iron Man Sucks. Yeah. Yo, wait. Okay, because this is the same Batman from the Lego movie, right? It's like the same continuity. Yeah, because I was like, imagine having such like a standout character performance. Like, let's just give him his own fucking movie. It's Batman. Yeah. Because he dated Wild Style.
SPEAKER_04So I'm saying, Yeah, that's my ex. And so like half of his lines, I can like literally, he just sounds like Bojack Horseman to me.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it's Will Arnett, right?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it's the same voice actor.
SPEAKER_07I mean, it's pretty much a similar story.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it kind of is. He like runs up to him. He's like, hey, my name is Dick. Well, children can be cruel. My name is Richard, but everyone calls me Dick. Children can be cruel. It's just great. I love that movie.
SPEAKER_02It's so good. Oh yeah. Yeah. So many other good superhero shows.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, so basically, Batman solves all the crime and has a midlife crisis.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Deo. He just feels purposeless.
SPEAKER_04You know, like he just thinks he's awesome at all times and doesn't want to be part of a family. That's what the movie's about. It's about him like basically forming the Bat family.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_04Because it's him like looking back on his dead parents and like not wanting to ever be part of a family again because he misses his dead parents and doesn't want to lose them again. It's actually like a really well-written movie. Like it works. It's a great Batman story. Yeah, it's it's honestly like really well handled. I really fuck with that.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_04Okay. Joker wants to prove himself and like he's like really upset that Batman doesn't fuck with him like that. So he wants to prove himself that he's like a better villain or he doesn't need Batman and shit.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, then they start bringing in like fucking um Sauron from Lord of the Rings and then like the Daleks from Doctor Who just sits all these randomies. King Kong.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. He goes to the Phantom Zone where like all the villains are stored. He just breaks them all out and have some like invade Gotham City.
SPEAKER_02Okay. So it's kind of like uh that record rough scene where like the villains have the AAA meeting just in the reverse, is like I want all of you to team up with me. Kind of to prove that Batman I am the best villain. Yeah. Okay. Pretty solid. Now, if the boys could do something that good, I'd I'd be impressed. In an hour, there wasn't supposed to be an original boys movie. You'll see the script.
SPEAKER_07No.
SPEAKER_04Oh, the one from like 2007 or whatever. Although only thing I know about it was that Tech Knight was supposed to be like one of the main characters in it.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, Technight was one of the main characters. It was more comic-y where it was just kind of like gritty, dark, provocative, and gory for the sake of being edgy.
SPEAKER_04It makes sense for the time.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I know it's why Tech Knight was also like one of the main characters in it because like Iron Man had just come out or whatever. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it makes sense. But the movie ends with I don't even think they use a virus. They like implant these chips in them and then play a frequency and their heads blow up. And then it ends with like a post-credit scene of them teasing the G-Men as like the next villain. After they kill the seven.
SPEAKER_04The G-Men was like what Gen V turned into. It's like it's like their X-Men. Yeah. Okay. It's like uh, you know that like Gadolkin or whatever in Gen V? He's the one who formed the G-Men. He's their Charles Xavier.
SPEAKER_02Gosh, gotcha, gotcha. Okay. G-Men is such a stupid name. I'm just, I don't know, man. They there's no way they can wrap this up very well in an hour.
SPEAKER_07Hour five.
SPEAKER_02Oh, my fault. Yeah, the five-minute ad break that uh Bezos likes to give you. It's so it's I think we're cooked. I think we're cooked.
SPEAKER_04I I cannot see a way that it's like a satisfying ending.
SPEAKER_07I don't think the critics see this and rate it as like the highest season. Did they? Yes.
SPEAKER_02The highest season? That's capped. Season two is the highest season. Not anymore.
SPEAKER_07Not according to critics.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. This episode episode seven is the lowest rated episode in the boys' history. By audience. Yeah. By audience, yeah. Critics don't know shit.
SPEAKER_03Because his critics are probably like a whole bunch of, oh my god, they're so political. I hate Trump. I hate oh my god, they're thinking shut the fuck up and watch the show, pussy.
SPEAKER_04Well, like I think the most recent episode is good in a vacuum, but like in the context of a season of TV or series. Yeah, in the context. Yeah, in the context of being the second to last episode of the show, it's not good.
SPEAKER_07The season when they originally wrote it was supposed to be 13 episodes. Yeah, that makes more sense for the fucking pacing they're going.
SPEAKER_02Fuck decided to cut down the Amazon. Bezos. Yeah. Bezos. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07I don't think it was Bezos. There's probably someone. He's not even the CEO anymore, but anyway.
SPEAKER_04Um, Bezos was specifically like, I don't like this guy. Fuck this guy. I'm too similar to Homelander. I wish more shows would be like open to having more episodes like that again. I don't know. Like, this is one of your biggest shows, and you're scared to give it the episodes that it needs. The length it needs to show.
SPEAKER_07It's just the bad Game of Thrones thing. Well, that's how to like change TV and now they all have like eight episode hour levels.
SPEAKER_04That's what really changed it. Yeah. Okay. Streaming was a big part of it too. Because streaming people have like lower attention spans and stuff. They're scared of making longer, like more episodes of shit. Bro.
SPEAKER_02I can tell that with the fucking um I would rather have shows with lower budgets and more episodes. I felt that way with the Stranger Things. It just felt like, oh, jingle, jingle, jingle. Well, Stranger Things is different.
SPEAKER_07Every fucking episode was a movie at that point.
SPEAKER_02No, I'm talking about the season finale. It was just like jingle, jingle, jingle, jingle, jingle, jingle.
SPEAKER_07Do you have two-hour episodes of Stranger Things? It still makes a bad ending, though. Yeah. Like, say what the fuck happened in that. I didn't watch the last season. What the fuck are they doing for two hours? Yeah, like nothing.
SPEAKER_04Like Netflix has like a mentality, like they've they've said before, it's like, oh, we like to make sure you can watch the show without looking at the screen and stuff like that. So they like to make sure they're repeating stuff out loud multiple times. We have to go to the show.
SPEAKER_07To be fair, I get it because that's how I watch shows. But you're part of the problem, Darren. I'm sorry. I hate to be able to do that. No, but I'm I I can like fucking I don't need a two-hour episode of just repeating shit for me to like get it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Like, I don't know. I glance at the other monitor when I'm watching it. I don't know.
SPEAKER_04Stranger, I was Stranger Things and the Boys are both about as long as each other and have been on TV for about as long as each other. Roughly. And they're both gonna have like a really rushed, poorly written ending for some reason. Like, I don't know what they were thinking was.
SPEAKER_02This is why Invincible is my savior, because there's an actual like besides animation concerns, which is like, okay, yeah, season one was fucking godly.
SPEAKER_07Actually, Stranger Things came out like four four-ish years before the boys. Boys was 2019. And they had larger gaps between seasons and longer episodes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, boys was 2019 was Stranger. Hours-wise, Stranger Things has episode 16. So yeah, about a four-year difference. Yeah, the boys was 2019. 2019 was boys.
SPEAKER_07It was it was like our senior year of high school.
SPEAKER_02Really? Yeah. Because the events came out 2019 too.
SPEAKER_04That's crazy. I didn't realize that. But they have had about as many seasons. Yeah. Stranger Things has about a season if you add up like the extra episodes that they have, because they have 10 episode seasons versus eight. So like you have about that much, but still, regardless, like they have been around for a while each, and they're both known as five seasons.
SPEAKER_02And and both season fives have been like the known decline of the show.
SPEAKER_07Well, like I said, Stranger Things take took way longer breaks between seasons.
SPEAKER_04It was mainly four and five that they had like the fucking like five-year gap in between for some reason. I don't know why they did all that. Just to make ass. I think part of it was COVID, but I mean, still, regardless. Yeah, that's true, that's true. I mean, season four of Stranger Things is actually really good. Season four of the boys.
SPEAKER_07I don't get how COVID impacts the writing, though.
SPEAKER_04They had the writer strikes and stuff too.
SPEAKER_07Oh, yeah, okay. That was probably a thing.
SPEAKER_04I know that was like a big part of it, but I don't know. Still, like they just avoided so many things. I don't know. A lot of people are just don't know how to do endings to shows, I guess.
SPEAKER_07Honestly, if I were to write something, I would write I would write the pilot and then the ending first.
SPEAKER_02I think so too. I think that's my headspace. Like I think this is these are my characters, and this is where I went to. Start and finish, kind of like and then you kind of fill in.
SPEAKER_03Because like for me, like I don't know how many actually could I'm I'm gonna Google this.
SPEAKER_02I could I want to have like an actual like I'm no writer, I don't know shit about writing. I took like one creative writing class in college, but that's yeah, I took one, I took one in high school, but like I just want to like have before I say what I'm gonna say, I want to at least understand the context of like how it actually goes down. Of what? Um see how many writers are in a writer room on average. Oh, it's usually a lot. You think that's the problem?
SPEAKER_04That's what I'm gonna do. It depends on the show, but usually they'll have three writers per episode. And then one or two directors. Ideally, a show should have a showrunner too, and for a long time, like a lot of them weren't doing that.
SPEAKER_02A typical television's writer's room has anywhere from three to twelve writers. The exact size depends on heavily the show format, the budget, and like 13 to 22 episodes or six to ten for streaming. Uh okay, so for streaming, they usually have around five to eight. For TV, it's eight to twelve. So let's just go with max size. So there's eight writers, including not including Eric uh Kripke. Those eight writers all decided this is how we're ending the show that we've been a part of for almost a decade. We're going to kill off one of the main switches, A-Train, episode one, have a really big shock. Have nothing happened. Jerk you off for five episodes, kill Frenchie episode seven, and then end the series. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And no one in those eight niggas were like, yeah, this is fire. Well, like you said, the original version was 13 episodes, so they probably did have a longer series.
SPEAKER_02Why, why take why why take out though if you have five extra episodes you're not using, why then replace the other five with the filler? I don't know.
unknownOh yeah.
SPEAKER_02Like, I'm okay. So if there's five impactful stories and five okay, so basically, if we're going over what they're saying as like objective truth, the three episodes that were staying was first, seven, and eight. That means they had ten episodes that played into each other. And so because they got rid of the other five, we just have five of filler. I assume they compress down, like it doesn't even feel compressed.
SPEAKER_03Because why the fuck am I watching two fucking furries sniff each other's asses for two minutes? That's what I'm saying. That should not be in there. Cut that out.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Have the other if the five other five episodes was like, okay, Huey and fucking Ryan go on like a day to the amusement park so that she would. So not Huey. If Butcher and Ryan go to an amusement park and then Butcher asks him to kill himself, that would have been fucking scary. Like episode two, after they realize they lost A-Train and the numbers are dwindling, he's like he like pulls Ryan out. I was like a fucking rabbit in the hat. He gives him like a one last day thing. He's like, look, I know we haven't always seen eye to eye. I know you feel some child.
SPEAKER_07I know what he did.
SPEAKER_02He took him to a bar. But like I'm talking about give him like a because he hasn't had a child experience. He lost him out. Like, give him like a child experience. Like, hey. This all the stuff I want to do with my brother Lenny before he died. That'd be a good way to do that. I don't even mind that. His son, but you know what I'm saying? Like, I because he's roughly the same age when Lenny killed himself. Okay. That's what I'm saying. Like, I always wanted to take Lenny to this place. I always wanted to do this with Lenny. I'm doing this with you. He's like, look, we both know Omland can't live. So if you can get behind him, I go with. You can say that I go with you. But we have to kill him together. And have Roy, like, actually like sit on like, you just took me on this last, like, look at the last meal. And like that, that's impactful. Have fucking uh mother's milk and Frenchie actually do something. Like together, how they use like season one of Frenchie and uh uh mother's milk were moving like demons.
SPEAKER_03Like, let's just be so fucking real. That's what hating each other in season one. Yeah, they hate each other, but they were so fucking efficient. Like mother's milk could like fucking make a weapon, like Frenchie could make a weapon out of fucking scraps of metal in a cave.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And Mother's Milk had like the tactician to be okay, Frenchie, you sit up here, Huey, go here, start. Like, I need to flashbang this guy. But no, we we have Mother's Milk talk about how he saved a fucking bird and that made him feel good. I like that scene.
SPEAKER_07That's why we got his name. I like that scene too. The really sucked It should have been like in the second episode or like a previous season.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I don't know why they would have that in season five of all things.
SPEAKER_07That was season, that was the last episode. Yeah. That was season. That was episode seven.
SPEAKER_04That's what I'm saying. I don't know why they had it there as opposed to everything else. There's no reason for them to do that.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. It's just like a lot of the dialogue. Like, okay, why make Gen V and then be like, yeah, Marie, you're trash.
SPEAKER_04My powers were greatly exaggerated.
SPEAKER_02You have concepts of a power. And then, like, honestly, this is like a side. Like, I just don't like how Annie is just so she's just there.
SPEAKER_07She's passive.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, she's like, I want to die. We gotta feel like she was very passive this season.
SPEAKER_07She's always complaining this season.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And then like I saw a random clip on Reddit where like it's Huey, Annie, and Mother Smoke driving somewhere, and then like Huey starts singing, we didn't start the fire, and then Annie joins in, and you like there's like a cool dynamic. And Mother's like, look, can we all nigga? We're going on a mission. Can we not like dance and flirt in my car? And it felt that felt like how the boys felt. It was like those small pockets of lightheart. That frog looks like he's eating a dick. Also, you're like, somebody's a mute chimico. Yeah. Somebody's just immute that. I mean, they they toned it down the last two episodes.
SPEAKER_04They did.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because he hasn't had a lot of speaking roles.
SPEAKER_04He's just been having to do sign language because she can't talk. Thank you.
SPEAKER_02And then after French died, she just went back to like just traumatized again. Throwing up gang signs and shit. I'm vowing to never speak again after that.
SPEAKER_04I'm never having kids now because that's what he would have wanted.
SPEAKER_02Oh, whatever the fuck she does, bro. But like eight people couldn't just be like, yeah, we could take out the the the furry porn. We can take out the unnecessary. We could smell the Chipotle you had today. Nigga, I when I heard that a lot, I was like Taco Bell Gordita Crunch. What the fuck? The writers can be like, okay, we can make Sage just not fucking retarded for like two seconds.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I swear to God. I was talking to Justin about this because he's catching up on season four. I swear to God, every single scene with Sage is a fucking Taco Bell plug. Yeah. Every single scene. Somehow Taco Bell always fucking comes up. Yeah. He gets her brood.
SPEAKER_02I wanted to fucking crunch wrap, pussy. Where's my chalupa?
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I feel like they've never been good at writing Sage. I don't know what it is. She was when she didn't.
SPEAKER_07It's hard to write a character that knows everything.
SPEAKER_02When when she was first-they're even trying to do it. When she was introduced in season four, when she was first introduced in season four, when she didn't speak, but she like could work around. Like basically every time Homelander fucked up and she just kind of ran with it. That was good. That was scary because she's like, you could do whatever you want, and I still can own you.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. But now it's just like. But now you're saying that she can't account for love in the middle of her predictions and shit. Like, what are you talking about? How could I forget that? That is one of like the most basic human things you would ever have to know about.
SPEAKER_02I talked to John about this, but did you catch how when Sage told uh Ashley 2 to read Soulja Boy's mind, and Ashley 2 told her on tape, on like everyone fucking saw it, he's having doubts about betraying his son. In the same episode, yes. She's having doubts about betraying his son. He kind of has an affection for him. And you send him with a get the fucking like how come.
SPEAKER_04Oh my god, I couldn't I couldn't have seen this happening. Oh no. Like they make her stupid. Like I thought it was something she did on purpose.
SPEAKER_07That was before they saw the um Stormfront clip, though.
SPEAKER_04It doesn't matter. Like she still thought, like, she got told, oh, he before the stormfront clip, he had doubt. He she was like, he has a weird, like love affection and love for him. And she's like, okay.
SPEAKER_07But it did the opposite.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, like I don't what the f I don't know. I think that was clearly just our very Does that mean Soldier Boy's a cuck?
SPEAKER_02No, I think he realized the woman he loved also loved his son. He's like, well, she cared that much and saw that much potential. Maybe there's something to it. Like he's very pro like as funny as it's out. He's like kind of pragmatic in a sense. Like when the butcher said we have to kill Homeland, he's like, What is he gonna do? He's like, he he raped this lady, he's a piece of shit. He's like, Okay, let's do it. And then, like, even when he wanted to like and then when that's how he was in season, yeah, yeah. And then when he wanted to leave Homeland, he's like, But you you made me a god. He's like, Yeah, but I want to bang hookers and not be around you ever.
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna choke you out and throw you in a tank. I love you, daddy. Oh yeah, he did say that, didn't he? Yeah, he looked at I love you. It's so weird. I don't they put Soldier Boy in the season just for him to be all of a sudden.
SPEAKER_07That's the only reason they did it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. They put him in here and he's just like, It's Jensen fucking Ackles. Only I could beat my son's ass.
SPEAKER_02None of you. It's Jensen fucking Ackles. All you had to do is be like, yeah, Soldier Boy is in this other thing. And that would have been fine. And then just write a good fucking show. But no, you had to spin all your buttons.
SPEAKER_07Like, just like one episode the season, you mean?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Like he gets unclawed, does something, gets caught with a virus, and then they freeze him again. Yeah. Yeah. The only way that we can save him is by refreezing him in the vial. Well, no, it's like he comes out, a homelander is like, I'm a god now. Like blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
SPEAKER_06Like, you know, um, he just comes out, just call him a pussy, and then he closed your boys like that's really fucking weird. And then he chokes him out, and then he puts it in the thing.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, but he's like, Did you fuck me? Why am I wearing your clothes? Did you fuck me? Why am I in your bedroom? Fuck me. I love that. He's like, What? No, no.
SPEAKER_04You remember seeing that like suit that he designed for him?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, is the comic accurate scene?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, they should have had him wake up wearing that. What the fuck is this? What the fuck? Why'd you dress me like a fairy? What's going on here? I thought you'd like it, daddy.
unknownLike, who the fuck?
SPEAKER_04They could have done some shit like that. I don't know. I would have really that would have been a lot better than like ruining the way his character's written by having him there for as long as they did this season.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Like maybe instead of spending money on fucking Joe Rogan, that Indian guy, and those other guys, you say Rogan.
SPEAKER_04You say Joe Rogan?
SPEAKER_07TV commentary.
SPEAKER_02Yo, Jamie, pull up that clip of Homeland, they're killing that people. Honestly, I put maybe that would have been a better Joe Rogan scene. He's like, yo, Jamie, pull up that clip of Homeland on the flight 171.
SPEAKER_04I mean, they'd both offer him weed, so I mean, that is true.
unknownWho cares?
SPEAKER_02Also, like, the amount of like, like, okay, so they made Diddy jokes, they made Epstein jokes, they made Trump jokes, they made like right-wing jokes. Could you just tell like a regular fucking joke? Like the whole incest thing with Homeland. The whole Laborito joke.
SPEAKER_07Okay, I will give them a pass on the political stuff because it was literally written two years ago. Like the fact that it just lines up is just the fact that it lines up. Yeah, that's true, that's fair.
unknownDude.
SPEAKER_02And the show's always going to have been that the first two seasons less, so once they got with Vicky and stuff, yeah, it did become super political. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it's like I kind of preferred the first two seasons because it was like the politics were in like fighting mega corporations and mega corporations basically being the second shadow government.
SPEAKER_07I mean, I don't know. In my opinion, they've made fun of both sides of the political spectrum the entire show. They have like they make fun of like inclusivity and shit that doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_04Like girls get it done. Yeah. I fucking love the A-train, like the Pepsi commercial. Exactly.
SPEAKER_07Like they like shoot at everybody. What was the Pepsi commercial? You never saw that like like was it Kylie Jenner, the fucking um I don't know who it was, but yeah, there was a Pepsi commercial where it was like protests and shit. Around like the BLM protests, was it?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, there's like two sides in this.
SPEAKER_07It was around like a really big protest in this country. Yeah. And then Pepsi released this ad where there's like some celebrity that comes out where there's like police and then rioters or you know, protesters on the other side, has a holds up a Pepsi can, and then everybody just gets along, hugs each other, you're all drinking Pepsi. And then they parodied it in the boys.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, he had them drink like uh the A-Train Rush or whatever drink. And it was like in the middle of season three where he had like the African colors on his suit. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like the Pan-African flag or whatever the fuck.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04They had to do all that shit going on. It was like him trying to go through and like have like the culture forward and manager or whatever at that point.
SPEAKER_03He had the whole conference with his brother's like, brother, you're a fucking coon. He's like, No, no, I'm A-Train, baby.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, then he wears like Pan-African shit, and all of his actual like family members are like, What the fuck are you wearing?
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Nah, A-Train is one of the best written characters in the show. Like, I love his story art. He's got a great redemption. Yeah, it's awesome. Like, I fucking love everything about him.
SPEAKER_02Because that scene where like he realizes uh when he saves mother's milk from like I think it's like hero gasm or something, they're in that mansion, and then that kid just looks and's like, Oh, you're you're a hero. He's like, that was my first real save. Yeah, and it felt fucking amazing. Yeah, yeah. I was like, good. And then like him running his family around the planet just to like avoid fucking I like how what killed him was like trying not to kill someone too. Like the same way that he had the same way that the whole thing got started. Yeah. Literally. That was very like, I like that full circle when he was like, I'm not gonna do that.
SPEAKER_07That's how you should fucking write that. That's what I'm saying. You write the first episode of the pilot, you write where you want to begin, and then you write the finale, and then you fill in the gaps.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I think they did that with A-Train, honestly. That's that's how that feels like it was written there.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. He kills his girlfriend, he saves a girlfriend. He uh just the whole thing.
SPEAKER_04I I could see them saying that's how they wrote the deep, too, honestly. Like I feel like that's that makes sense for the people I don't know.
SPEAKER_07I don't think you need to think that hard for the deep. It's like, okay, he's gonna start out with sexual assault and just be a fucking loser off the street. And then just keep falling.
SPEAKER_02Slowly becoming more and more. Yeah. Or like now he like basically they went from the deep is cool with fish to and he fucks fish to where like he can't even go in the water anymore. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Soldier Boy does not feel like his shit was planned out at all.
SPEAKER_02No, it just felt like they just they they had they they know that Jensen Ackle brings people to they he puts asses in chairs, yeah. And it was like just show him.
SPEAKER_04Same thing with the boys. None of the members of the boys feel like they were planned out at all, honestly.
SPEAKER_02No, Huey doesn't know. I know you guys, I know you guys like don't really mind, but like that whole scene when he was talking to fucking uh translucent son, that whole bit, I was just like, okay, I guess I think it makes sense for makes sense for Huey, but it's like you could have just not had that in the show. Yeah, uh it just felt like wasted time because it mounted to fucking nothing because he just got blown up this very same episode. It's like, oh wow, Huey tried to be nice and it blew up in his face for the 39th time. Yeah. Oh my god, they yelled at oh wow. Hey, I didn't I didn't know Huey fucked shit up and people die around him. Yeah. Novel, novel. Yeah. Um, they didn't have to have that scene. Honestly, if I was gonna rewrite the boys, here's how I would have done it. So episode one and two play almost exactly the same. Uh season five? What's episode two about? That's when they meet Edgar in the bunker.
SPEAKER_04That's where they have the dude who like has rock cum all over himself and shit. That's where they use the virus on uh Soldier Boy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay, sure.
SPEAKER_04I don't like that episode.
SPEAKER_02No, but uh, you could you could keep it, sure. The goon cave. No, I was saying keep episode one. You can keep it because it sets up the virus. Yeah. Have episode two, you let them use the virus. They let the fucking crow bitch go. Episode three is when I would like actually start making changes, changes.
SPEAKER_07You know what? Keep that episode, but the virus kills Soldier Boy. That would have made more sense. Yeah. And then Homelander's scared of his mortality, wants to become a god, boom, religious stuff. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Because then you could all you can tell about rising because now you know what Soldier Boy's story is instant. Now you can see you're now you're more invested to see more of him. Well, you just teased him, basically. Yeah. It's like, oh, you liked him, but he died? Oh, this is a thing.
SPEAKER_04Where it like jumps back and forth from present day into the past.
SPEAKER_02I still can't figure out if Stormfront's dead or not. They keep like teasing her, like they talk about her too fucking much. Storm like, did she actually kill herself? Yeah.
SPEAKER_07It makes me feel really weird. People were saying that she was gonna like show up sometime in the season. I was like, why? Well, they do.
SPEAKER_04Her character's dumb. That was kind of like how I felt about it, though, because I was like, they kept bringing her up multiple times in a way that doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_07Well, like the thing is they already had like a soldier boy love interest in season three. It was like the fucking Scarlet Witch knockoff.
SPEAKER_04Well, that's how I felt about Black Noir, too. Like they kept doing the shit with him being mute and then making comments about it, and that didn't end up going anywhere either. Like it was just like he was literally just method acting. And it's like, okay, I guess whatever. You have to do that.
SPEAKER_07I think it would have been cool if they did the thing where they healed his voice, you know. Yeah. We can talk publicly.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like having the whole Jesus thing. That basically, episode three, we speed it up to where like they talk about his whole Jesus PR. He sees Madison's titties and he's like, okay, I gotta become God now. So he bathes in the blood of baby milk, and then like uh so uh so's dead. A romance or souls were dead thing. So like now he's like, I'm I because they killed my dad, I'm going full scorched earth. So he starts just killing people, and then he's like, I need them to believe I'm God. So then like O Father's like Yeah, we can do that. Yeah, and then Firecracker goes, Yeah, we can do that. So he heals, he's like, you know what? Jesus told me I'm God and that I'm picking up the fire. And he's like, This man cannot speak, he can't fly, he can't do shit. But if you believe in me, I can change it all. So then you know, Black Noir starts speaking and flying. He said, Oh my god, homelander. So now he builds up the seven again. So now it's Oh Father, uh Black Noir, the Deep, him, Firecracker 6. Who's who's a good seven? I don't know, just throw some random note. Oh, he sage doesn't portray him yet. And saying that'll be the seven. He's like, We're the new seven. And so now Sage is like, oh fuck, I really gotta get out of this now because he's basically at this point, he's like, instead of taking Sage's advice, he's like, Well, God doesn't take advice from anybody, Sage. How about you uh use my father's corpse?
SPEAKER_07So I feel like Sage would know that at this point, when people start believing you're a god, it's kind of a lost cause.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So then he's like, hey Sage, why don't you uh use my father's DNA and uh make me some V1, buddy?
SPEAKER_07So now I don't think they shouldn't use V1. There's no point.
SPEAKER_02I think I'm just saying like him like trying to use her for something because like what else does he need her for? Because at this point, what is her point of her character?
SPEAKER_04Stop the boys, but uh Yeah, I mean it'll be him trying to like use her as the strategist for how to actually get her.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but then you know she wants to leave, so she's sabotaging him. Okay, that's how they're they're getting away with all this shit.
SPEAKER_02Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_04Like she's working as a double agent the same way A Train was and shit.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. So then you know, Firecracker and uh the deep are his like day one glazers, and then like uh because now Black Noir is like you know human, he's like talking his shit, he starts voicing his opinions, and Homeland is just like You don't talk. Yeah, but he's like he healed him, so he's like, I liked it more when you didn't speak. Don't speak in the meetings, actually. And so that already like puts like uh like a weird like thing because now the deep is like still doing the whole I'm better than you, trying to one-up him. And so that's episode three, it's with like him taking over. Episode four, the purge starts. I will episode four needs to be the purge. Homeland needs to start going to places with his Esperts and be like, hey, do you believe me as God? Yes, no, kills him. And this is where Firecracker starts to fucking do her shit. He's like, Firecracker, I need you to uh turn on the propaganda machine and get all these people to believe in me. God start converting other churches. Yeah, like so you keep the same firecracker stuff. Yeah, and then she like talks with her pastor, she has a whole conversation. He's like, Well, now they're they're arresting and killing our petitioners. Can you talk to him about this? She's like, I'll try. She betrays him, and then you know, she has to see him. She like tries to talk to him, like, you can't leave me. He's like, get out. And he Yeah. And then episode five, they still have the virus, and they try to like uh get it close to Homelander. This is where friendship is that basically that whole episode's like seventh thing, they're like, We need a plan B because they killed Soulja Boy. This virus doesn't work. If we can't get the virus from us, let's just say they can't. They need like two plans. They start you know cooking chemical and shit, and they try to do all that shit. So now they have a virus and chemical. They have an A and B. Fine. Episode six. Uh, Homelander goes, like, he actually does like mass destruction. Before he was attacking like churches and institutions. Now he's like, all right.
SPEAKER_07But what makes him switch though? There has to be something that switches them.
SPEAKER_02Oh, from like just attacking like churches and institutions to like full mass murder.
SPEAKER_07They already killed his father. He legitimately is the pre the president in Congress declaring war on him.
SPEAKER_02They're like, Yeah, you can't you can't just kill anyone, willing.
SPEAKER_04He goes to them and he tries to force them to remove the separation of church and state. Yes, he does, yes, yes. And they're like, dude, we can't do that. That's illegal. He's like, oh well, yeah.
SPEAKER_07I said so now.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So now the military is fighting back against Homelander.
SPEAKER_07But Homelander has his soups, though, that they sent abroad. Yeah. And then you have like, that's how you get the iconic shot of the White House in the final episode.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so that's what episode six is now like the Civil War between America and all the soups out Lord of Homelander. Episode seven, uh, Butcher now makes other decisions like ho Huey, Huey, Ewe, Ewey, Huey, Ewe. We gotta kill all of them, bro.
SPEAKER_07We gotta kill all of them. He's like, no, we have chemical. Then you see her as like a potential villain.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because now they're like, they're like Huey, Frenchie, and uh Starlight want to use the chemical option of nuking him. Yeah. And then uh Mother's Milk and uh Butcher are like, no, no, no. They all gotta go. And Sage is also on the I don't know which side Sage would be on. You think she'd be more on the She would want to kill them all, I feel like. And she'd be like, I'm just gonna be in my bunker.
SPEAKER_07So that's if you abandoned her original plan of her bunker thing. Yeah, she wanted to keep all soups alive for that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so basically, yeah, no, we gotta kill them all. And so now there's a big civil war in episode eight. Like, uh, they there's that scene with Ryan and Homelander, that's still thinking, like, Ryan tries to sneak him. And then like he's like, Your heart's beating really fast, son. Are you nervous?
SPEAKER_07I think Huey should use Ryan to convince Butcher that his plan is wrong.
SPEAKER_02That would make sense. Yeah. I wouldn't mind that.
SPEAKER_07Because you know, it's it's faithful to like how they loved Becca, you're gonna kill what Becca. It also gives everybody a happy ending where it's like Kimiko and Starlight can survive and Ryan.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm. Mm. I like that. And then I and then like uh they just have and then like Butcher and Homeland just do a 1v1. Good old just throwing hands.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but you have Kimiko like get him you get his powers taken away or something.
SPEAKER_02So it's a neutral room, it's just a neutral just fighting room.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Boom! That took three niggas. I took three niggas.
SPEAKER_07Not twelve. Like I'm saying though, it's easy to rewrite an ending. Hindsight's 2020. Well, we haven't even seen it.
SPEAKER_02We haven't even seen the thing yet. To be fair. We just wrote we wrote seven episodes and said, this is how it should end.
SPEAKER_07I still like the idea of Homelander winning.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. This is such a weird dystopian future.
SPEAKER_04Like we think what's a win for Homelander, like he just stayed in the window. I think having VOT win but not Homelander makes the most sense.
SPEAKER_07I think they're like the quote unquote real villains. I don't know. I like I like I like villains that win. I don't know. VOD is still like Homelander still loses, but I think he wins in a way. That's why I like it. Yeah. He still has followers. Yeah. I mean, it's still like a political parody in that sense, too, where you could do the most fucked up shit and people will still follow you.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. No, that's that does make sense. Like a like a Homelander cult, like how the Joker had a cold after Injustice or whatever. That could be something.
SPEAKER_04I could I think it would have to be like some kind of other way. Like I still think my ideal way for Homelander to lose would be just to lose his powers and not die.
SPEAKER_02I like how Ozai and uh Avatar was just a bum after Aang took away his.
SPEAKER_04I like the concept of him just like having to live life as a normal person because I think that's a lot more like of a worse ending too.
SPEAKER_02Imagine just see McDonald's and someone's like, my your ice cream machine's broken. And he just has like that scene when he plays the violin and then he's just and he's just like, sure.
SPEAKER_07I like the idea. I don't think he should get a fucking job in prison. I know I'm just I'm just he gets beat up in prison, and that's where you have that.
SPEAKER_04I I like the idea of him just like being fucking like on suicide watch, constantly in prison, like trying to kill himself and like get trying to fall guards with a guard, just fucking shove him into a wall. Yeah, like getting like ass raped in prison and like all this other stuff.
SPEAKER_02All of a sudden he's done to people. Yeah, exactly. Like he's the only non-soup in a soup prison. I would love that too.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I could see that too. Cause then the fucking dick guy comes back, like, hey, spread him. Yeah, like just the image of him being in like in a padded cell, like in a fucking strait jacket and shit, like not being able to do anything.
SPEAKER_02That's literally where he started.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, exactly. Oh my god, like as a child, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's a good full circle for Homelander.
SPEAKER_04That does make sense too. Yeah, because like he started off as a child. The whole reason he is this way is because he was in a cell like that, and then they just end up putting him back there to begin with because of the way that he is. Yeah, that would be good, actually. I'd fuck with that.
SPEAKER_02I'd I actually really prefer that. Wow, circular. It's not circular. What's the full term? It's like like the H train thing, it's like not cyclical. Full stop. Full stop, yeah. Full circle. Full stop full circle, there you go. Like it's like a full circle art. It's like you started here, but now you're here, but in like a like a monkey's paw twist.
SPEAKER_07Yes, yeah, monkey's paw, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I like that clip of George Lucas saying it's like poetry, it rhymes. It rhymes, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Ah, man.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_07Well, imagine if they did all of that in one episode, though.
SPEAKER_04Dude, that'd be badass.
SPEAKER_07Low-key.
SPEAKER_04Low-key. Would that bring it back? No. It would probably be really bad if they did all that in one episode. I would appreciate that they tried. I feel like a one-hour long episode is just not long enough to wrap up everything that they have. Even if they do a lot of cool concepts, I think they're just gonna be cool concepts and not well written. Yeah, just half baked. Yeah. Well, we'll see.
SPEAKER_07Let us know if we were wrong in the comments.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we'll let us know because at this point we haven't seen it, and we'll say like, oh yeah, we were wrong.
SPEAKER_07This is pure spec. And then um, start a uh a petition for the Scatcast cut to be released on Vlog Plus.
SPEAKER_04Guys, I think there's a secret ninth episode that they haven't released yet.
SPEAKER_02No, mass hysteria, mass hysteria, mass hysteria. Guys, you know how bad, you know how if I was a writer on Stranger Things, you know how fucking embarrassed I would feel if my fans have diluted themselves into an additional ninth episode that I know doesn't fucking exist. How embarrassed you have to feel.
SPEAKER_07Wait. Is there actually a secret episode? No.
SPEAKER_02But for like a month, they were like diluting themselves on social media, like there's there's no way they just ended like that.
SPEAKER_04You never heard of like the convicty gate stuff? No. It was like after Stranger Things ended, everyone was like, guys, this is not the ending. There's actually gonna be a secret ninth ending. It lasted until February. Like for months, people were like, that's not the real ending.
SPEAKER_07What the fuck would you go after that ending? They just It was all a dream. That's what they thought it was gonna be. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_04Everyone legitimately was like, no, this stuff didn't make sense, this didn't make sense, this didn't make sense. It didn't resolve this, it wasn't bad writing, it was a fake world that Vecna created. Obviously.
SPEAKER_02Vecna, the fucking Indian girl, her sister.
SPEAKER_04Although a lot of people said it was like a like Vecna putting them in the dream world and shit like that. And that's what a lot of people were saying. They're like, oh no, of course this didn't happen. Of course I didn't beat him this easily. That would never happen that way. Of course, all this other shit. Yeah, that's exactly what it's gonna be with the boys. Oh my god, he's using the psychics to make a hallucination bubble. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but uh let us know in the comments below.
SPEAKER_04Y'all got anything else? Shit. I mean, besides the boys. I don't know. I do want to rant about my fucking ticket I got. Okay, I was driving home from Florida and I was driving slow because I was trying to save on gas money and shit. Um yeah yeah. So I was driving in the right-hand lane going 65 miles an hour the entire time, right? From Florida to Georgia. I was going up fucking fucking lane. Um, okay, I didn't realize the move over law was a thing, right? I didn't I didn't know that was a thing.
SPEAKER_02It is, yeah. Because a cop basically a cop died because someone didn't uh they ran into him.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Yeah. So I didn't realize that that was a thing. So I got pulled over for not getting over in the left hand lane. I was like driving in the right hand lane when someone was pulled over in the right hand lane. I didn't realize that was a thing. He pulled me over and he was like, Why didn't you move over? And I was like, I don't I literally said, I was like, What are you talking about? And he was like, Why didn't you move over? And I was like, I don't know. Like, I was fucking, I was I was like, I don't know, I was just driving. What do you mean why didn't you move over? You could have moved over two other lanes and you didn't do that. And I was like, Okay. I was like, sorry, I didn't know that was like a law, my bad. Is there any way I can like get a warning or something instead? Because now I know and I'm not gonna do that again. He was like, Nah, I gotta write you a ticket. Or I was like, okay. Um, while I was talking to him, someone else drove, did the exact same thing I did. Um, and I was like, okay, gonna go catch him too. He's like, oh yeah, we're about to. And then his little buddy fucking drove off and started to go chasing him. I watched him pull that guy over fucking two. Yo, this is fake.
SPEAKER_07Dude, it's a content funny.
SPEAKER_04Dude, I'm fucking bit. I was like, okay, so that's probably what happened to the guy before me. You're just doing a fucking chain of days. This is ridiculous, and all the shit. Okay, so I'm like, he ended up writing me a ticket after I was like, dude, I drive for my job. Can you please not write me a ticket? He was like, Well, they're not gonna see it. And I was like, okay, dude, whatever. Um dude, I look at the ticket this morning. Guess how much the ticket was? 100, $2,000. $2,000? Holy shit. I was like $200. It was $600.
SPEAKER_07Oh, okay. What $2,000? Tickets can go that high. I've never seen a $2,000 ticket. That's a super speeder. No, also, if you if you run, if you run past a bus with its stop sign. Oh, no, that's children, yeah. That can go up to $2,000.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, super speeders can do like $1,500. Yeah, then if you almost kill a child, obviously $2,000. But $600 for like not putting it.
SPEAKER_07I think $2,000 might be the max for something like that.
SPEAKER_02That's quicker.
SPEAKER_04But they probably gave you pretty like a median, yeah. I've never had a ticket that's $600 fucking dollars.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, I'm that is ridiculous, dude. My super speeder ticket was super high. I had to go to court for that one. That shit was like $1,300, $590. That's crazy. Yeah, so going $95 and an $85, by the way. Or like $98 and $85. That's crazy. It's $75, yes. Like $20, it was $25 over. $98 and a 75? Well, uh, yeah, yeah, $25, $27. It was $27 over.
SPEAKER_04I mean, dude, I just had a a speeding ticket for going $20 over, and that was like a $200 ticket. And then this time I get for just driving in a straight line, going 65 and a 70. I get fucking $590 on my ticket. Also, it's weird because Georgia has that same law, but like they don't really pull you over for that like that.
SPEAKER_02Like, obviously, you have to use common sense. Like, usually This was in Georgia. Oh, this was in Georgia? This was in Georgia. Because I was gonna say, like, usually like I've never been pulled over in Florida.
SPEAKER_04It's always in fucking Georgia. Because like for me, it's sometimes it was it State Patrol that got you? No. Oh. It was a fucking sheriff. What county were you in? Uh it's county.
SPEAKER_02You said it was south of Atlanta. It was really south.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. It was by the border.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they love pulling people. I know. There's nothing going on down in like Susanna Aaron.
SPEAKER_07That's like that's that's that's a tea. No, because when I'm driving down the Florida, I always see people that like those cops pulling this.
SPEAKER_03There's no fucking reason for it. Because nothing else happens.
SPEAKER_02They have quotas, bro. Why do they give police officers quotas?
SPEAKER_04It's really good. Why do you want these people to create problem laws and problems? What the fuck is the point of that?
SPEAKER_07No, literally, though, um, not congressman, what do you call it? Like state representatives or county representatives also have quotas and laws they have to pass. So there's like a lot of stupid fucking laws in Georgia. Like, there's like one county where like chickens literally you can't let your chickens cross roads.
SPEAKER_01This is so stupid.
SPEAKER_04I don't know. Like, I I've never really had personal issues with cops. Like, for the most part, like I've for the most part, my experiences have been like whatever.
SPEAKER_07Is it cops that determine the price of your ticket? I don't know.
SPEAKER_04I think it's like how he determined to give me a fucking ticket to begin with.
SPEAKER_02No, I think I think it's like how like the like I'm pretty sure they have like an actual like data chart and fit. Like they clock your speed, they clock like distractions. Was the road empty? Like, because like when you get a speedy ticket, it's like, is the road wet? Is it a one lane, two lane? There's like a whole like algorithm they usually put it through.
SPEAKER_04I don't know. My whole thing, like there wasn't a barrier on the right side of the road. Why didn't you just go three feet over to the side if you're that fucking scared? You know, like why didn't you move over? Like, I'll why didn't you move over? I was like, what are you talking, dude? What are you talking about? Like, what do you the best of like if you're that scared of something? Like, why are you even a cop if you're that scared of something like that happening? Why are you giving me a $600 ticket for what I told you I didn't know about it? I'll know next time. So I don't know.
SPEAKER_02Technically, now what with that is in the law, there there is no protection against not knowing the law.
SPEAKER_04I get that, but again, if you have the option to give me a warning, why are you giving me a ticket for that? That's just you personally wanting to be an asshole. That's all that is.
SPEAKER_02Well, let's see, it's the beginning of the month. Cops, you yeah, they're I I'll I'll tell you right now. It's the beginning and end of the month. Yeah, it's the beginning, and they they they they're out because that's when they have to hit it. If you ever yeah, okay, you know. So I was gonna yeah, if for anyone listening, if you ever notice cops have really high activity, like the first like week and a half of a month, and the last week of the half of the month. And like there's a like a two-week gap where like you just don't see them.
SPEAKER_04That's why it's so stupid. Like, do you not have anything better to do with your Southern Georgia? No, they don't have anything better. It's so stupid.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, literally, literally he said it's fucking so stupid.
SPEAKER_02Because like I'll tell you right now, in like Atlanta and stuff, I you rarely see someone move over for a cop. Like, the thing is, like, because it's so condensed, like, the best you can do is just slow down to like 45 and just pass them slowly and they don't care.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah. I don't know. That shit doesn't make any sense to me. Like, you're telling me like you're that scared that I was gonna run you over while you're in your cop car, that you're gonna give me a ticket over that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Now I will say, like a side note aside, uh, I work in Decatur. There was a lady, her two two of her sons work are oh not work, two of her sons are on the Atlanta Falcons team. Like, she's a pretty like known, not known, but like she's the aunt of two Atlanta Falcons basketball players. She was sitting in her car in front of the Kroger that I work like next to, and some lady had a medical emergency. That's what we're assuming, and she drove into the parking lot at 80 miles per hour and pushed her car and her car into the Kroger and broke a fucking uh support beam. Yeah, yeah. And the lady died on impact, but the lady who hit her lived. What? It's all it was on the news. Like I worked right next to her. Like it was later. What does this have to do with people who was a very different situation? But what I'm saying is, cops have those types of like superstitions and fears because random shit like that happens. Yeah. Like, of course, he doesn't expect you to have a medical emergency, but I've seen enough body cams.
SPEAKER_07It's also a law because our doors are on the left side.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah, but I've seen like enough body cams where like cops like literally they pull people off the road. Like there's this one body cam, I forget what state it was in, but like he pulled a lady over, and then she's standing like behind her car, and he's like just preemptively, he's like, man, man, I'm coming here. So they walk, they both walk to the grass, just like off-rip. He's like, Let's just get off the road. And then, like, literally not even 30 seconds, 15 seconds after he tells her, like, hey, just come over to the grass where we're safer, a car ramps into her car. Yeah. So, like, I get where he's coming from at the same time. There's like a give and go to it. That's what the Krocus were saying. Sometimes shit just fucking happens. So, like, him being scared is understandable, but there's a better way of going about it for sure.
SPEAKER_04Because that's my whole thing. Like, you have plenty of room to park over by the grass. Why are you choosing to park over here if that's what you're scared?
SPEAKER_02Like, why actively put yourself in danger is kind of like the question. It's like you could just choose a safer thing and have people avoid you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know. Why didn't you move over? That shit pissed me off, bro.
SPEAKER_04I was like, why didn't you move out? I was I was like, move over. I literally said I was like, move over where? What are you talking about? I was like, I I said, what are you talking about? I didn't know like what he was even going on about. I was so confused.
SPEAKER_00We got a law that says you gotta move out, or if I pull someone out over you, he was like, What you didn't take your driver's test?
SPEAKER_04I was like, Yeah, dude, I took my driver's test eight years ago. What do you mean? My brother wasn't on there. That question is not on the test.
SPEAKER_07It legitimately was not on there.
SPEAKER_04I told him that. I was like, that question was not on the test. He was like, Yeah, it was. I was like, No, it wasn't, dude. I don't know what to tell you.
SPEAKER_02My brother just took his driver's test. They don't address that shit at all. They don't. I know they don't.
SPEAKER_06Why didn't you move over? What do you do at a stop sign? Yeah. How do you yield during a right-hand turn? What do you do when you see a bus?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it asks like if you're supposed to pull over when a cop is driving past you and shit like that.
SPEAKER_02Or emergency vehicles.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it asks about EMS vehicles and shit. And you're like, Yeah, you pull over to the side of the road. You try to go to the right, and if you can, blah, blah, blah, all this other shit. That's why I said to him, and he was like, Yeah, well, it also says something about this. I was like, Okay, whatever, man. Whatever get your rocks off, bro. Okay. What's this like what, 3 a.m.? Just a little day. No, it's just like at 12 and noon, like just driving home. Yeah, because I was leaving earlier that day. Gotcha. I don't know. That shit was ridiculous, bro. Should have moved out over. A cow, bruh. It was ridiculous. It was so fucking stupid.
SPEAKER_02Honestly, maybe you could fight the ticket. Potentially. Uh oh. This is not speeding though, so I don't know if you can fight that. Because you can fight speeding tickets.
SPEAKER_04I mean, I can't fight it because I I did it. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I mean, I'm not gonna I'm like, I can't say I didn't do it. I just have to be like, can I please not have to pay $600?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, that's what I was gonna say. You could probably just plead like a lower ticket. Have a lower fee. Yeah, have a lower fee.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, like can I please get like a $50 ticket? That'd be cool.
SPEAKER_06I'm in between jobs right now, and I just can't afford it.
SPEAKER_04So yeah, I just got fired right when he gave me this ticket, by the way.
SPEAKER_02Guys, guys, I get that like this is bad, but I didn't know and be like, I'm not a bad guy. Look at my record.
SPEAKER_07You might as well try if you have the time to. You have a pretty good thing. I want to drive down there for that shit. Oh, yeah, you have to go to the county where you got the ticket.
SPEAKER_04Four-hour drive, bro.
SPEAKER_02I don't want to do that. Ah, wallahi, bro. That's probably give you six months.
SPEAKER_04Exactly. He knows I'm not going down there to do that. I'm not driving four hours for that shit. Fuck that. Like your honor. Eight hours because it's you have to go back. Yeah, exactly. That's a whole day gone. Yeah, fuck you. Yeah. What the hell is that? Gas is expensive. All this shit's ridiculous. Why didn't you? I'm stuck on that. What did you move to?
SPEAKER_07I made $3.69 for a fucking gallon of milk yesterday. Bro, what is that?
SPEAKER_04It cost me $75 to fill up my tank of gas.
SPEAKER_02God. $75? And you have a like a small car, too. Yeah. Dude, I don't even find gallons as your record hold. $18. $18 to 20? Oh shit, mine's also $14. But I I I literally like, no, since this I ran war, it started, I have not filled up my car. I've only ever put $30 in my car max. Because before that ran war.
SPEAKER_07That's crazy.
SPEAKER_02Damn. No, because before that I ran war, it took $30 to fill up my car as well. So now $30 only gives me half.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02So I'm not filling my shit up, bro.
SPEAKER_04That was why I was driving slow, because if I drive it, it goggles too fast. If I drive $65, if I go like over 70, like 70 or over, my car becomes less efficient. If I drive 65, I don't have to fill up my tank once going between Georgia and Florida. Damn, that's I just do it before I leave and then I go. That's it.
SPEAKER_07That's how my car is, and I can drive however I want. I love I mean if driving a hybrid has its perks. Yeah. I wouldn't know.
SPEAKER_04I've never had a hybrid.
SPEAKER_07Wait, what's your Mossberg Allen usually on the highway?
SPEAKER_04I I had to like ask chat GBT before I left.
SPEAKER_07I was like, You can check on your car.
SPEAKER_04No, I don't know. I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_07That's pretty good actually for an SUV.
SPEAKER_02Because it's a highway. I think highway. At least that's what it is. Like this is my average. Because your city is gonna be like five or six lower.
SPEAKER_04I think that was close to what mine was. It might have been like 34.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, highway. I could probably do like 45. When you account for like city and suburban traffic, it goes down to like 39. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Because I don't have to drive on the highway every day between jobs and it's just around like 34, 35. So yeah, shit.
SPEAKER_04Do you have anything else?
SPEAKER_02No man, ACAB, bro. A cab, bro.
SPEAKER_07Remember the move over, guys.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, apparently. Fuck. Don't forget to move over. This is the PSA from Thompson County Police Officers.
SPEAKER_04God. Should be mad as hell, bro. Yeah. But thank you for watching and listening. Let us know if we're wrong about the boys. We'll see how it is. Um, but yeah, we appreciate it. See y'all later. Peace. Bye.
