SPEAKER_08That's not bad. That's 16 bucks per use. There's 350 million of us. That's pretty expensive. Imagine the government says just give me 16 right now. You're like, fuck you. For to go to the moon? I'm not going. That would do it. Maybe wait. How much you say? 16 bucks a person? I'm not giving you 16 bucks. What? To go to the moon? I'm not going. So? Fuck you. SPEAKER_05You said that feel like we're about to agree with you. I'm John. I'm Afonso. Welcome to the Scat Cast. We don't know either. Not at all. So I heard you watched the Amazing Digital Circus in the theater. Yeah, Thursday night, opening night, like early opening night.
SPEAKER_08How did that smell? That's not funny. Uh his fault. It was pretty funny. It was okay for the first part, and then someone decided to get up and just fucking crop dust our like line in the theater row. That's bad. Yeah, so I'm sitting down. You described the smell. How putrid was it? Okay. Honestly, it okay. If I'm being like, if I'm being honest and fair to the dude, it just smelt like you know, ever have a sweaty game and such ever just game so hard you just sweat. I guess it smelled like he sweated, gooned, and had a little bit of onion twang to it.
SPEAKER_05Onion twang. You know something that smelled like onions?
SPEAKER_08Yes, like their natural BL, like their natural BL. So you're saying it was it smelled It was like a musty oniony goony smell.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, so it was like he just watched palney porn while and then realized halfway through the goon sesh that he had he was late to the movie, so he fucking grabbed his spare onion and like an anime girl with a fucking bagel in her mouth, he was like running with a fucking onion, running like okay, I got you. I I get what you're saying, okay.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, you wouldn't expect him to smell like that because I mean he just kind of looked like a nerdy white guy, but when he walked, it's like a tall, skinny, nerdy white guy. So you don't think too much about it. He's like, okay, he's a dork.
SPEAKER_05But like when he walked by, you just got like a visible fucking stink cloud in there.
SPEAKER_08I don't know.
SPEAKER_05I'm surprised you all saw it Thursday night. That's crazy.
SPEAKER_08Well, that's what he bought the tickets for. He thought it was Friday, but it turns out it was Thursday. Yeah. But honestly, like, as someone who's like somewhat of a fan of the series, I'm not as crazy as some of these other uh people online. Just gonna say that right now. Like, I enjoyed the story just because I've always liked how you describe it. Like, it's like a Gravity Falls type of horror where it's like the uncertainty is in like the mystery of the show. It's like, okay, are they real? Are they fake? What's going on? Who is this? Can they leave? And how that was like the allure, and I like mysteries like that. I like mystery incorporated, gravity falls, just shows where like there's an overarching like theme of um uncanny horror, like losing your body's uncanny horror, a fucking fifth-dimensional being is uncanny horror, the whole fucking Cthulhu shit with Scuba-Dos. That's like an uncanny, like it's it's a bigger mystery, and it like it infects the entire store. I guess that's what like the like the fact that Kane is an AI and you can't tell if these are real people or not, infects the entire store. Every any every interaction, every dialogue is like, is this simulated? Is this real? Is this fake? And that's what I liked about it.
SPEAKER_05I don't know. I I didn't really like the show that much, like honestly. I've seen every episode. I watched them as they came out after a certain point.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_05Because I remember like back when the pilot first came out, I I watched it and I was like, eh. Um, and then eventually it came out. I kind of missed a bunch of them and then had to catch up on it or whatever. Um yeah, I don't know. I I thought I don't like using the word cringe. Um, so I don't really know like the best word to use to just like.
SPEAKER_08What did you think was cringe about it in the first place?
SPEAKER_05The writing. The writing was cringe, the dialogue, the character drama, um everything on like a writing level.
SPEAKER_07So like was the so you're saying the plot was fine, but how they you know strung the plot I didn't like either.
SPEAKER_05You like the plot? I like some of the concepts. I like the concepts of a plot, but shout out. They had the concepts of a plot, but that's about all they had, I feel like, going into it.
SPEAKER_08Like, okay, my question is like, not not to discredit anything you're saying that, but like, why do you think other people liked it so much? I don't know.
SPEAKER_05Legitimately, like, we watched it. We're trying to Oh, you a K R. Yeah, we watched it.
SPEAKER_06Did she watch the finale with you?
SPEAKER_05Uh she already saw it in Portuguese first. Um, before before I watched it with her. And what does she think? Oh, she she doesn't like it either. Okay, like she she's like me, like pretty much the entire time. Um, when I wanted to go like watch it originally, she like gave me like a forewarning. She was like, Yeah, I'll watch it with you, but like, it's not great. She was like, I'm not gonna say that much to like you know, hamper your mood or whatever. I was like, She was like, It's not great. I was like, Okay. Um, so I watched it, I was like, Wow, that was bad. It's kind of like what I said. Um, but I don't hate it. I think I like some of the characters and stuff. Um, but overall, I think it's just not fun. It's kind of boring a lot of the time, too. Excuse me. Um I don't really care about Pomney as a character, especially as a protagonist. She's just very kind of boring, she doesn't really have a whole lot going on. Um, Gangle, I never liked very annoying. Jax, since the very beginning of that show, has been such an annoying character to deal with, and he only becomes like a bigger character over the course of the show to the point where I just do not care about what he has going on, and then spoilers, I guess. In the finale, it's just nothing but him. Yeah, like a solid 30-minute chunk is for no reason, there's no purpose for that whatsoever.
SPEAKER_08We can talk about later, but keep going. Like, just run through what you're doing.
SPEAKER_05I mean, what like let's just say now I guess there's spoilers in what we're saying, but um yeah, okay. I'll I'll get into that later. The only characters I really like are Ragathon uh uh Kinger. That's it. Those are the only characters I like, and I guess Kind and Kane. That's really it. Okay. Only ones. Um sorry, I'm fucking chewing on. I need to stop. Get the fucking jelly beans away from me. Um but they're the only ones that I feel like actually have like character arcs besides Pomney. Pomney, like, obviously, gets more like accustomed to the the place or whatever. It's kind of it. Um Zubel's cool, but she doesn't have anything to do over the course of the show. I like Zubul, but she has nothing going on.
SPEAKER_08She's pretty much grounded, she just takes care of uh what's her what's her face?
SPEAKER_05Gangle. Yeah, yeah. Gangle, I don't give a shit about. No offense, Gangle Gang, but um Jax is Jax is the exact same over the course of the whole show.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, and that was like that was the whole point. Like he never changed. That was I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah. That was that was the point, he just never changed. The point of this character is that he's poorly written. Cool. Well, the point of the character is that you have to be willing to save yourself. And he's not, but but it's like the thing is it like spoiler, he's not even a real character, he's literally a brain scan of a traumatized they all are. Well, not the they all are, but that's not an excuse. It kind of is because it's not real, like there's no room for growth. That's just what he is. The other characters grow. Do they really? Pommy basically stays the same.
SPEAKER_05Ragatha just kind of she grows accustomed to it. She gets she grows accustomed to it the fastest, so it's like she gets more comfortable in her own skin. Ragatha starts realizing she needs to step back and start like stop pushing herself onto people so much. Zubal becomes more comfortable in her own skin. Kane isn't even fucking real to begin with, and even he changes by the end of the last episode. The only one who stays the same by choice is Jax.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, but then you see, like, when he ends up because like apparently, I I I'm not an S for this, but apparently, like abstraction is a form of suicide.

SPEAKER_08As in like you It's just you giving up. Yeah, you giving up, like you just you become like isolated in your own thoughts, and like you just kind of get consumed by yourself. Yeah, so Jax forced both of his friends, maybe his love interest, depending on how much you want to read into it, to commit suicide. Yeah, and that fucked with him.
SPEAKER_05See, my my whole thing is this, right? What was the point of having the scene and showing Jax's backstory and doing all this shit after you already know he's abstracted? What does that benefit the plot?
SPEAKER_08Personally, uh I can't confirm this as well, but I thought the whole point of Pomney being able to talk to Jax when he already like posts abstracted was to like leave like this open-ended question of like, okay, is abstraction curable? If if they're not real and can uh can't but then they showed you can't cure it. Well, is it that you can't cure it or is that it takes more time?
SPEAKER_05Well, if that was the case, they would have shown it. I feel like I feel like the whole point they fucking they treat them like zoo animals, they were sitting there in an aquarium watching them swim around. Well, okay, to be fair now. I feel like they absolutely would have shown them cured at that point.
SPEAKER_08I feel like I feel like personally, it's one of those things like they're trying to learn more about them because they realize okay, they don't attack if they're in a dark space, because the same thing with Kingers, like because my whole thing, right?
SPEAKER_05They said like when the show was still coming out, they're like, Oh, yeah, the show is about like learning to be comfortable in a stagnant place or whatever the fuck, right? That was what caused them to abstract to begin with because they weren't comfortable in that place and they gave up, right? Yeah, then Kane stops torturing people in the place. Now everyone there's comfortable, and these people are still abstracted and treated like animals. Why would that not be the time they're cured?
SPEAKER_08You know what I mean? I think once you abstract, you've kind of like because like there was two jacks, like the one is the monster jacks, and one is like but again, at this point, he's abstracted.
SPEAKER_05Why do I care about his backstory at this point? He's not a character anymore. He's literally an animal. Like, there's literally no reason to show his backstory at that point. I feel like why would Pawnee even be able to like enter him and talk to him? What does she gain out of this? Like, what is the closure that she gains out of this? That he was troubled. She already knew that.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, she was troubled, but she was probably like, I think the difference was that Ragatha is like she she uh she's like super submissive to what like she learns to not be. Yeah, but her whole character is that like she just gives up, like she tries and then she sees like you just don't pay attention, she gives up. That was one point she just gives up. Pawnee is too persistent, she doesn't give up, yeah. So, like, she didn't give up on jacks either. That was like the whole point of that in the interaction is to learn about him.
SPEAKER_05It would have made more sense, but she's persistent for something that doesn't matter, but she doesn't know that.
SPEAKER_08And two, what I think now you I can't say this for certain. What I think is possible and why I think they left it kind of open-ended, is like, remember they brought back that dog scratch, like out of what so all of the people who have extracted, technically, if they are just memory files and not real people, their memory files are sitting in that one vault that Kane had access to, but then he gave up his God powers by releasing the blue orb. So, like I still understand what the fuck that was. I couldn't, I couldn't tell you. I think remember that That shit was stupid, it made no sense. Basically, Kane was the red AI, the the blue orb was the right. No, I I got all that. So basically, I guess he just I guess he was holding it hostage and he relinquished the power. But now I will say I know I know what you're saying. I know what you're saying, because it makes a lot of and one of the main complaints I've been seeing from people is that like that happened too quickly, like they probably should have just got rid of episode eight and then just added another 30 minutes, like just fleshing everything out, especially with the whole Kane redemption arc and stuff, which is a very fair critique. I I agree with that. Like, that's fair to say.
SPEAKER_05I mean, okay, so the blue thing was clearly another AI. Yes, that was the better AI that been made, the second one. But the thing is with that, they never showed that AI's character whatsoever.
SPEAKER_07That's probably bubble.
SPEAKER_05That's what I thought too, but they didn't have they didn't show bubble fucking leaving him, they just showed the fucking little blue dot.
SPEAKER_08Well, I think that was the point. I guess they were like, because like Kane always showed me.
SPEAKER_05Like, I guess you're supposed to I guess, but they don't necessarily tell you, but it's not really like it, like it's not even like an inference thing. It's like, oh, you should have been able to pick up the clues and know this. It's just like I I can only guess that's my best clue as to what's going on, but they didn't really leave anything like up to interpretation. I don't know his personality at all. I thought when he was gonna do that, that he was gonna like fucking defuse and be two different people, but he didn't do that. He just fucking like go go off into the sunset, you know. That was all he did.
SPEAKER_08Well, like but then that same became the moon. That was like the whole conversation was like a forgave him, and then I guess he just wanted to be forgiven. That thing wasn't the moon. I never programmed you to say that.
SPEAKER_05I know he didn't program any of them to do anything.
SPEAKER_08He programmed, he made that entire world.
SPEAKER_05I thought that was him discovering that they have sentience. I thought that because that was the whole thing with like gummy goo and shit. He was sentient. He didn't program him to be sentient. Oh, maybe. I thought that was him just being like, oh shit, I can create life. I didn't realize that. I thought I was just creating NPCs.
SPEAKER_08I took it as him giving up his like god mode powers in the moon or the blue orb forgiving him. That's how I tried. But honestly, that's probably a fair point, too.
SPEAKER_05You know what I mean? Like I was like, I didn't take it that way at all. Honestly, those two, honestly, that's that's that's fair. You see what I mean? They have concepts of a plot, they don't have a plot.
SPEAKER_08You know what I mean? You see what I'm saying? I'm just like, yeah, yeah. Like, but I enjoyed the ride of it too. I'm not gonna lie. Cause I think because what K really really liked about it, and what I like, I really like enjoyed was like, I will say, this was definitely more like emo LGBTQ coded, which is like basically a good like third of the show. It's kind of like those subtext between Zubul and Gangle. Yeah, it's the whole thing with like Jax and like gender identity and him not feeling like he belongs. Like that whole thing was whatever, that's fine. What I liked about, I guess I'll go to my likes just to tell you like what I got out of the movie.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, no, because like legitimately after we watched the episode, we were both like, I legitimately wonder what Alfonso and KJ like about this show.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_05We're like, okay, well, we want to ask this. So yeah, go ahead. I want to hear this. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08So what I liked about the finale was it gave me more, how I say this, it just gave me more insight into the character interactions. Now I agree, Pomney stayed flat, and then they explain it in a very like, I guess they kind of they showed and telled, and they also told you. But when whoever speaks was like, Yeah, you adapted the quickest. It was King's like, you adapted the quickest. Like, I guess to say that her main character, like the the one who got her brain scan, she was like, her whole issue before she came was that she felt lonely and didn't belong. So it would make sense that because she never had a spot, she would just make her own spot here.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_08As a as a person who never fit in around her peers, because I'll say like this my brain works the same way. I don't know how you feel, but like when I go into crisis mode, I think way more clearer than if I'm not in crisis mode. To put that in perspective, like if I'm flirting or talking to a girl, my brain's in crisis mode and I don't know how to function properly. But if there's like an like when I chopped up my fingers, if I'm getting shot, like if there's an actual life or death emergency, I'm very calm and I'm very, I don't want to say thorough, but tactical with how I make my decisions. Yeah. And like she thinks shit out. Yeah. Yeah. And that's how Pami, I feel like how that's how Pommy took that situation in real life when she's doing with social interaction, she's a nervous wreck, she can't really fit in. But this is quietly like, can you this that that's when you lock the fuck in? Yeah. And like that whole like dialogue of like locking out, I was like, okay, that's cool. She locks in because she needs to find like and she never gave up. Like now's her whole characters. Like, she is a very determined person, but she needs a purpose.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_05And that that was kind of my takeaway was that they all needed a purpose. Yes. That was like their main thing was needing a purpose. That's what abstraction is. It's giving up because you don't have a purpose.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, you don't connect to people anymore. You wouldn't have to be able to do that.
SPEAKER_05That's what I thought the theme was, and I think that would have made more sense in the finale for me. Is if they found ways to actually give themselves a purpose, but they don't. They just fuck around all day. Yeah, yeah. They're like, oh, I want to play baseball. I'm gonna play baseball. I want to fucking eat a rotisserie chicken. I'm gonna eat a rotisserie chicken.
SPEAKER_08Well, I think the whole well we I guess you could say in the end they did give themselves purpose because they start going on adventures with Kane and they just start having fun because that's all they can do, which is kind of that's not really a purpose. Well, what what are they they can't leave that? This is their home now, so the purpose is just to enjoy every day and be there for each other, which is what they said. Yeah, so I mean, I guess that's kind of the purpose. I see where you're coming from. You know what I'm saying? Like, that's not really much of anything. If you're doing the same shit you were doing before, well, I mean, there's there's like I'll say like this it is kind of bleak that there is nothing they can really do because they can't leave.
SPEAKER_05I'll say this too: the characters themselves didn't need to change at all. Kane is the only one that actually needed to do anything for anything in the plot to change. What do you mean? What would have been different in this finale if Kane from the beginning was like, I'm just gonna be completely honest with you. I'm just gonna tell you what you're doing on the outside. He didn't know that though until he died.
SPEAKER_08He never accessed those files, so he had no fucking. He could have, he just chose not to. Well, he you saw even the when he still had the god powers, he didn't know how to fucking get to it.
SPEAKER_05Like he there was like firewalls, so he obviously so he tried. That was it. That's what I'm saying. Like, like characters themselves being given the information of like, hey, this is what your real life person is, or whatever. It doesn't change shit about how they act on the inside at all. It doesn't change anything about their characters, it doesn't like reveal anything about them.
SPEAKER_08I will say one thing. I could I can't recall. Did Kane know they were always brain scans, or did he just find that out now? No, he knew. He knew the entire time. That's what I got out of it anyway. I thought he didn't know either until he found out that the real life versions were outside. That's how I took it. Because he that's just like these humans, like I I thought he thought that they were real people too. Regardless, it doesn't matter. I mean, it's the same end result, you know what I mean? Kind of, but I feel like the context matters. Like, why didn't he like break in and do the whole thing? Pike didn't know that existed, which is the whole point is that they hit a lot of stuff.
SPEAKER_05Well, and I I mean I'm fine with him not doing it, I don't care. But my point is that, like, when that happens in the story, it doesn't matter if that happens now, episode two, episode three, it doesn't matter when that like change happens in him, they all still end up in the exact same position in the last episode. You know what I mean? They all still end up coming to that same realization that oh, we need a purpose, we're all gonna do this, we're all gonna live happy life. Like that's that's it. You know what I mean? Their only obstacle they had to that was Kane. That was it. Well, the only obstacle was the fact that they didn't know they weren't alive. But that's what I'm saying. If they were given that information from the beginning, then yeah, okay, would they care?
SPEAKER_08You know, but that was the whole that was the whole mystery were they alive or not.
SPEAKER_05So, like but now they know, and it's like, okay, we're just gonna be cool in the same position instead. Like, they don't have any growth from learning that information whatsoever. They literally get told the information and they're like, no, no, no, no, call me pomni. And then like they do that whole thing, and it's like they they start saying, like, oh, I'll call you Abigail. And it's like, I'm pomni now.
SPEAKER_08No, I'll okay. I have like it's not a counter-argument, like I have a different interpretation from that. The way I took it was just like it's still like a dystopian horror, but I can't say dystopian because it's not like the broken society. It's like uh, it's like a I am uh uh have no. Well, it doesn't even have the horror aspect to it anymore. It's it's the horror is the fact that you're never you never were alive in the first place, and now you are a sentient thing in a place that will never change.
SPEAKER_05And it's like, imagine that's how it is living on Earth, bro. I don't know what to tell you. I'm a sentient thing living in a place that'll never change. I don't, it's the same thing.
SPEAKER_08Technically, no, like everything here changes. Like we have new presidents, new leaders, new worlds. Yeah, they go on new adventures every day. I don't know. They play baseball when they want to. I don't know. But it's like everything they have there is by their own control. The the part of living in the rule was that there's some things that are just out. Like a meteor could just come down and blow up the like there's there's certain things that they will just never have the novelty to experience. And that's where like I don't think it's a horror.
SPEAKER_05It's an inconvenience.
SPEAKER_08It's a it's a it's a I was what's the post? It is it deals more into like the cause, it's like a horror horror is the overarching term.
SPEAKER_05Kane being evil made it horror because he was basically torturing them and shit. That was the entire thing. He was making them do his bidding the entire time. Um, basically to get his own enjoyment out of it or whatever, pretty much. He was like, oh like fair socially, yeah. He was like, I want to feel fulfilled in the fact that you feel fulfilled or whatever. But there was nothing that goes or changes from that in the middle of it. You know what I mean? Like nothing about the show itself changes from having that happen earlier versus later.

SPEAKER_05Oh my god! Welcome to the Scat Cast, Darren! Oh we know this guy. Okay, you can continue. Do you know this guy? I know this guy.
SPEAKER_08I think for like what I enjoyed about it, my personal like enjoyment came from like with the ending. I kinda how would I say this? I liked the fact that they at least expanded more on Jax because he was the most troubled, like as you said, he didn't change, he was the most troubled person there. And when like I was watching it, like, how like you know when there's just like a bad person, but like you're like, oh, they were like raped, shot, bruised, abused, group, and then like like you add all these like contributing factors to where it's like before you're just a shitty person, it's like, oh, you're a shitty person with like baggage, you know what I mean? And like basically it just it gave me like more of like a it's like I don't like you, but I understand you. And I kind of like the I kind of like I like characters like that. It was like, yeah, you're I understood him to begin with, though. It was very I didn't know.
SPEAKER_05I mean, like, you like he's an asshole, but it's like it was very clear he had a reason for being an asshole. But what was the reason though? That's why I the reason doesn't matter. I'm just like, oh, he had a tough upbringing. That's it. That's that's I mean, really, it's what it boiled down to. It was just like, yeah, I had a tough upbringing. That's kind of what I assumed. I assumed he was like, Yeah, I had parents that was kind of mean to me and stuff. That was pretty much what it boiled down to. I guess that's kind of what I assumed going into it. I was like, oh, he's just gonna be an asshole to everyone because of that, and he just does all that and kills himself. That's pretty much it.
SPEAKER_08No, I mean, I still liked it because I like the fact that, like, you kind of you kind of firsthand see what an abstraction really is because you've never really seen exactly that someone abstract. Like you can kind of tell like when Jack starts to do around like six or seven, it's like he uh just feels weird and like he gets he doesn't want to hang out. Like he he starts to like socially isolate himself and freak out, but like when you see him like torture like an emotionally abused ribbed, you're like oh it's bad, bad. Like you you have there's like levels to this shit, like you just hit like a suicidal low point. Because that one scene where like she tries to see because that was the same type of shit he was doing to people before that, too.
SPEAKER_05Well, not really before he was he was being done to him by his parents, and then he got in there. No, that's what I'm saying. Like throughout the entire show, you see him doing that type of stuff to people. It's not just rivet he does it too.
SPEAKER_08But that's when he first started doing it, and that's what caused the first, and then he just kind of you know stops caring. I mean, yeah, I'm seeing him watch it over and over again, but it's stuff I've already seen him do. Well, but then again, that's before he knew, and that apparently the reason why he does abstract is because he realized he's not real. Like the entire point was that he kept holding himself together, was because he was like, I I need to get out if you're alive. But once I guess he found out that he's not even alive, he's like, what the fuck? Nothing matters. Yeah, and that's what was kind of like the last tipping point for his character. Which I was like, you know, that makes sense. But like K liked it because he's like, Wow, Jax killed his both of his best friends, his girlfriend, and then he just killed himself. He just he just found K just like he just he found that funny. I like it is funny, I liked it because it was just like it didn't have the emotional weight that they wanted it to.
SPEAKER_05It is funny.
SPEAKER_08I don't know. I just felt like it was very um I like tragedy, and it just felt like a very tragic thing. And I I guess that was part of like I got my.
SPEAKER_02Was it bad? Do people think it's bad?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I mean, John thinks it's bad.
SPEAKER_02A lot of people think it's bad.
SPEAKER_05When it leaked, a lot of people said it was terrible, but now that it's actually like out, I've seen a lot of people saying it's not as bad as they said it was. I've seen a lot of that saying.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, like as they said it was, but like is it still bad? John doesn't like it. I enjoyed it for what it was.
SPEAKER_05So it's kind of I didn't like any of the shows. I don't know. That's kind of what I was telling him. I was like, I really don't like the majority of that show at all. It's like the shit that they wrote that's like at a level 50, it only degrades once you send it to more people inside that community because they're like at 15, 25, 10. Because it's just like I knew you were a superhero, I knew you were doing all this shit, and I was still acting like a bitch to you. I was like, what the fuck? What the fuck? So because even they said they didn't know how to use her powers, like, so that's why she just makes walls and she's like, Yeah, she can make anything, but like, how do you not have like she is a plot-winning character? Imagine she's like, all right, conquest, your metal arm is now like the the weight of a fucking thousand sons, and you just can't. Well, for me, it's like every scene.

But um I was there three weeks ago in like the uh cardiovascular ICU, and there was a guy who um was on a ventilator and then they extibated him, and then the second, like you came with the ventilator and excubate extibated him, and then he was like fine. But he was, you know, when you're on a ventilator or you're just like out of it for so long, you wake up with delirium like you're not yourself for a while. So they put him in restraints because he was like like being aggressive and shouting and um trying to pull at things, but then like they put him on like soft restraints, which are like basically made of like uh like nylon or like a um like a straight like a standard rope material. Okay, we have like other restraints that are more like heavy duty we can use, but um he just had like those soft restraints. Okay, and then uh his wife and father-in-law were visiting, and then like this dude's I don't know, but just somehow gets out of the restraints, and he has he had a central line, which is like it goes here or here, and it's like it's like it's basically an IV that goes directly to your heart. And it's like essential for ICU and ER patients because it's how you give like uh vasoactive medications that like start the heart or like compress, like dilate the vessels, constrict the vessels like in a really fast time. Um, like norepinephrine you'd put through there as like an example. Uh he rip that out, he's like bleeding profusely, and then he attacks his wife.

Um, the lights are always on sometimes, depending like you like at our hospital, we turn the lights off at night to give you sleep. Um, but I mean, like, I don't know, some sometimes you like the rooms uh that's not required, so the lights will be on. Like, I don't know, crappy providers will leave the lights on, so it just throws them off and they get like crazier and crazier the longer they're there.

SPEAKER_02Um, it can be spontaneous, but like usually if it's like a complicated pregnancy or just in general, like after you deliver, you'll stay in the hospital for another night or two. Just for like observation. No, not away from the baby, they keep the baby with the mom. Like, I were I I was um I did my clinical rotation in a the uh OB unit, and like one of the units was um Mother Baby, where like literally the mom after delivering will just like stay there for like one, two, three nights. And like that's when they do like psychovels, you know, seeing stuff like that.
